I think this is important for everyone, but especially for teens who feel they may not fit in. Having a Name helps with that. They know their place in the world, you know?
I always called my friend’s Mom’s by their name, it’s was Mrs. Day or Mrs. Love, until and if I was invited to use their first name. It was a sign of respect to me.
The one and only fight I got into in elementary school was after hours. Mine and a friend’s mom’s was at PTA, and she was going on about calling her Mom Moo-Cow Mommy. I didn’t like that and told her that wasn’t nice.
Well, she started to do that just to annoy me. So I gave her a warning and when she kept at it, I used my body and threw myself at her and crushed her against the concrete wall.
Aaaaaah, my book arrived today!! Such a crazy nostalgic feeling reading that first chapter Wonderful to be back in the world again so many years later.
Turns out I didn’t see it in a thrift store – I saw it in my child’s bedroom which honestly, her room looked like a well-picked-through thrift store at that point!
