Allow me to introduce myself

Hey y’all! My name is Joy and I’m from Huntsville, Alabama. I have had a lifelong fascination with Magick and witchcraft, but growing up in a very religious, Christian home, I have been afraid or ashamed. Now having the perspective of a plus 50 yr old, back living at home, I’ve realized my autonomy from my family and started looking up spells a couple years back when I was having relationship problems. The spells I tried from You Tube didn’t work. This set me on the journey to truly seek my way. My mission is to improve myself while bringing Joy to others. Ultimately I would live to practice healing.I am still closeted for now. No sense hurting my 91 year old mother… And I am truly grateful to be here. Blessings and Light.

You’re also welcome to join us for Tea tomorrow. It’s a nice way to get to know the coven. And tea is always of the good!

I look forward to getting to know you! Glad you joined us!

That’s awesome! I occasionally work in Decatur. It would be wonderful to chat, have lunch, anything. I am so starved for human interaction, it’s ridiculous! Didn’t mean that in creepy way. Lol

Hello. Yes, tea is good and so is company and conversation. Did I understand that it is a drop in. I work lunch and dinner rushes but in between and after I am free.

Merry Meet, Joy! Welcome to the Forum!

Thank you for that introduction to your life experience and path. It’s great to have you here!

I read that you tried some spells that didn’t work. I think that, especially in the beginning, the best spells are those that you are confident that will work.

For example, if I’m confident that I will pass the test or that I will have a good vacation, I cast a spell for just that. It seems kinda pointless but the point is to build up my confidence in my own spellcasting skills with something that is easily achievable.

This process helped me remove my own doubts so then I was able to move on to more difficult spells, but keeping that trust in my own ability with me. I hope that makes sense!

Please feel free to explore the Forum and comment on any topic you like!

It makes perfect sense. Try walking or crawling before running? Overachiever, here, but you are absolutely right. If I start the bar too high, my motivation dwindles, my confidence plummets and my frustration increases. None of that sounds appealing in the least. Thank you for the advice. It has been heard and noted, but please don’t be offended or surprised if you have to tell me 1 more time to slow down. Sometimes it takes more than once and then it clicks. Good night y’all. See you tomorrow or in 3 hours.

Yep, whenever you have time today! And it can be any drink, I dropped in one night when I had been busy all day with a can of root beer. LOL. It’s all good!

Welcome to Spells8 and Infinite Roots. :hugs:

The Group Ritual :coffee: :tea: :person_in_lotus_position:t4: that Kasie linked to is open for us to do individually at any point during the day. Then we share about our personal experiences and respond to each other throughout the day. :grinning: We have tried setting up Zoom/Google Meet type rituals, and I hope we try again, but it’s difficult to get people together with all the different time zones, schedules, etc. :upside_down_face:

I understand not wanting to hurt family members with the changing faith. It can be hard for extremely religious people from “accepted” religions to accept we have taken different paths. Being in the broom closet can be hard on us, too. I struggled with my love of Magic and Wicca for 25 years before finally embracing it and walking away from conservative Christianity. I hope you find the love and support you need here in the coven as you learn new practices.

I’m on EST here in WV. It’s late and I just got on though. LOL. Today was weird, April Fool’s Day or not.

I fell asleep on break and again when I got home from work. Now it is 230am and I am wide awake. Sometimes I must set alarms for important things but as I get into the habit of Thursdays it will be easier.

No worries you can be late too! It’s all of the good. Even just commenting on the thread will help you get to know the people here in the coven. Hopefully you can make it next week!

Merry meet @joy4! I’m Phoenix and I’m almost literally overjoyed to see that you’re from Huntsville I never find any witches living close to me. I live in caddo (between Moulton and Decatur). It can be a bit challenging to do what we do in this area. Folks can be very judgemental and mean here. That’s a lot of why I’m so ready to move back to Cullman. They’re a little bit more relaxed about it there. I’m still pretty new to this myself but I’ve learned a lot here with the infinite roots coven and I’d be happy to help however I can and if I can’t then someone here most definitely can.

Hi! So nice to meet to meet you. I was literally sitting here thinking, wishing, I had some new friends. And Valerie’s email came through and I saw your message and Phoenix’s. I’ve dropped the ball with Phoenix. I’m so sorry, girl! Had the wrong things occupying my mind. Time to reset and concentrate on myself. And how lovely it is to meet like minded, kind and I see, crafty people. What has caught your interest in general, on Spells8, and in your practice?

Phoenix, I owe you an apology. I fell off the earth and on to the crazy train for a bit. The Universe chased me down. Sat me down and pretty much told me that I could have been done with my journey but for some need to torture myself and stay right here. So Option A is looking a lot better! I’ve been procrastinating, but it’s time. Please forgive me. It looks like my weekends will be mostly free, of you want to try and get together. I can take you wherever you wish.
