Ancestor Honoring Spell **Materials:** - A white or black candle (for guidance and protection) - A small offering (such as food, herbs, or a sentimental item) - A photo or personal object of your ancestor(s) (if available) - A bowl of water (symbolizing the veil between worlds) - Incense (optional – sage, frankincense, or mugwort work well) **Instructions:** - Prepare your space. - Find a quiet, sacred place where you can focus without distractions. - Light the candle and, if you’re using incense, light that as well. - Place the photo or object of your ancestor(s) in front of you and set the bowl of water nearby as a symbol of the spiritual connection. - Center yourself. - Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and ground yourself. - Feel a sense of calm and connection as you honor the spirits of those who have come before you. - Call upon your ancestors. Hold your hands above the candle and speak the following: _“Ancestors of my blood,_ _Ancestors of my spirit,_ _I call to you from realms beyond._ _Come forth and hear my voice,_ _For I honor you this night/day.”_ Offer your gratitude. Reflect on the lives of your ancestors and their influence on you. Visualize their strength, wisdom, and love flowing through your lineage. Now, hold the offering in your hands and say: _“For all that you gave,_ _For the paths you paved,_ _I offer my thanks,_ _And honor your name._ _May your wisdom guide me,_ _Your spirit protect me,_ _And your love flow within me.”_ Present the offering. Place the offering near the candle and water, symbolizing your connection and respect. This can be food, herbs, or anything meaningful that represents your bond with them. Close the ritual. After spending a moment in silent reflection or speaking any personal words, say: _“I honor you, my ancestors,_ _Your memory forever bright._ _As the candle burns and the water flows,_ _Your presence is with me in day and night._ _So mote it be.”_ Extinguish the candle when you feel ready, knowing your ancestors’ guidance will remain with you. You can leave the offering outside or in a meaningful place after the ritual to finalize your connection. ---
