Inner Child Oracle

  • (By: Amanda Lynn Hails)
I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

I AM

I am safe. I am supported. I am worthy. I am unique. I am honest. I am true. I am abundant. I am present. I am strong. I am open. I am wise. I am cared for. I am good. I am accepted. I belong. Now is the time to practice affirmations. Know that you are and speak the words that you need to hear over yourself now.

I have been going through the gammet since mid-May & today is the first day that I feel even close to myself since that time. I have been able to be self-aware of my anxiety & hot flashes from it that usually will turn to panic. My root Chakra aligns with the message of this card & my inner child plus my adult self needs these right now too.

I AM… these affirmations are a part of different meditations & breath work with them to help me work through days like today where my anxiety is trying to take over at the slightest variance of anything really & get me back to the moment & stability back in my being.

It also aligns with the card that I drew for Tending Brighid’s Flame today which I also had drawn a few days ago. So I think the hard part is over & I am in a definite healing type of cycle including baby steps :footprints: backward with great strides forward. :revolving_hearts: :infinite_roots:

@Siofra_Strega what a really nice draw! These are some excellent affirmations to use in a self love ceremony, perhaps even for the strawberry moon this evening! I may just have to slip a few in!

Thank you so much, it makes a lot of sense for me about a few things really. So it is reassuring too!

Great idea for the Strawberry :strawberry: Full Moon :full_moon:! I have my chakra stones & jewelry out with my other altar crystals & ones that I work with regularly. I also put out moon :crescent_moon: water :droplet: and other crystal jewelry :revolving_hearts: I’m taking it easy this time, which I guess can be considered self-care

Eihwaz :iwaz:

Magickal Uses : Chant or inscribe to help reach out to the other worlds. Meditating :woman_in_lotus_position: or slipping into a shamanic trance, inscribe this rune on you to facilitate your journey as well as to protect you while you are on it.

Overall Meanings/Keyword(s): Tree of Life, Magic, Initiation, Death, Guardian, Responsibility, Hidden Cosmic Knowledge.

Through purposeful sacrifice, a united will can be achieved. As above, so below. As within, so without. This commitment brings knowledge & guidance for the highest good of all if you are ready & willing to work it out.

The principle of the vertical axis that penetrates into the world above & the world below & connects the human realm to the heavenly & chlonic regions. Synthesis of above & below, light & dark, life & death. The yew is a flexible force but also hard, it endures beyond all other things.

I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

REVIEW YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

There is much power in the act of releasing or taking responsibility, as some responsibilities are ours to hold & others are not. Today, review your physical, mental, & emotional responsibilities. If we hold that which we are not meant to, we can be drained & if we deny that which we are meant to hold, we can become powerless.

Celtic Tree Oracle

(By: Sharlyn Hidalgo & Illustrated By: Jimmy Manton)

I shuffled the Celtic Tree Oracle deck 3 times & took the next 3 cards off the top & drew:

5. Nuin Ash

Keywords the microcosm & the macrocosm, reflections, mirrors, uniting inner & outer worlds. “As Above, So Below”

Nuin Ash initiates in the fifth lunation. This tree represents the world tree, Ygggdrasil, from which the Nors god Odin hung for nine days & nine nights and was rewarded with the runes. Surrender & compassion are this tree’s message, as it teaches us about receptivity & intuition. Ash invites us to dive deep into our own inner wisdom. It is here that we meet the mystery. This is the place of enchantment & magic: We have the influence of water & the magic of the water sprites & mermaids. We follow the cycles of the moon. We drift into dreams & visions & reverie. The ogham for this tree is Nuin & the letter N.

5. Nuin Ash Upright

When you get Ash in a reading expect to connect with your own inner tree, which represents your center & connects you with your inner world & outer world. Here, you experience the meaning of the axiom “As Above, So Below” This is a place of great guidance. It links you to the universal knowledge & can help you understand yourself – your thoughts, feelings, & actions. To access this knowledge, pay attention to your dreams. Seek communication with your higher self & with divinity. Follow your intuition & the dictates of your higher heart & mind.

The Nuin Ash is less about doing & more about being - & about noticing. Therefore, pay attention to what is showing up in your life. Your outer world reflects your inner world. If you see things that ou are not happy with, begin to make changes. Changes within will reflect in the outer world; changes without will reflect in the inner world.

I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

A TIME TO REMEMBER

A photograph can be a powerful tool on your inner child journey. What we feel for our inner child can be addressed as we look at images of our younger self. Create space to look through the photographs of your childhood. Gaze at each image & practice sending love, acceptance, forgiveness, or whatever you need to the little you.

GRATITUDE BRINGS ABUNDANCE

The act of gratefulness is a door that leads into abundance of spirit & heart, allowing us to more deeply enjoy this life that we live. Set aside time today to remember all that you have to be thankful for, inviting your feelings of gratitude to overflow every part of your being with their dazzling warmth & light.

I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS

There are many things in this life that we feel we cannot or should not have to do but we must be careful of what we place in these categories, for maturity often lies on the other side. Take time today to think upon the beliefs that might be holding you back. Are you putting yourself in a box by what you “cannot” or “should not have” to do?

  • I genuinely pulled this card two days in a row. I think for me, I know exactly what it means starting yesterday. Today is similarly difficult, so this is a good reminder that I am doing & have done the best that I can regarding the situation.

I think the last 3 days have been good for me too! We have a lot of really good lifestyle changes happening at our house right now, but sometimes change is hard! And… I was so tired! I spent yesterday on the couch napping and went to bed so early. I am not doing too much today either!

Perthro :pertho:

Magickal Uses: Increase connection with the unseen world. Use in conjunction with Laguz :laukaz: to help increase psychic powers. Use to increase luck or use with Nauthiz :naudiz: to appeal to Norns to reweave fate to your benefit.

Overall Meanings/Keyword(s): Fate, Destiny, Luck, Illumination, Secrets, Transformation, Karma, Chance, Destiny, Divination, Choice, Primal Law

The ancient Norse were serious about gaming. The gods assisted when the dice were rolled. Either the act of throwing/tossing dice or other playing implements.

Little difference between techniques & tools of rune casting & gambling. Gambling was a passion among Germanic peoples. Testing luck was the same as their essential being.

Something to be filled & drunk from. Hand of fate through karma or Divine predestination is showing strongly in one’s life.

Power order & purpose behind the seemingly random events.

Intense forces of change from behind the scenes are occurring currently. Perthro :pertho: suggests positive forces unless shown with negative runes.

I slowly fell out of my one-card reading practice- gonna try to work myself back into a daily card! :grinning:

I drew the King of Coins today.

For this draw, I’m reading the King of Coins as a persona (Court Card) that embodies who I should be today for the best way to overcome challenges and yield the best overall results.

As a strong, stable figure the King has control over outward matters and wears a crown of confidence. In the suit of coins :coin: , this expertise and control relate to financial and material matters most of all. The Earth Element is dominant for me today, with a sub Element of Air :earth_element::air_element:

Good day to do my budgeting, pay the credit card bills, and organize finances for the month it seems! :+1:

One of my new practices is to journal in my Book of Mirrors daily. I have decided that part of that will include daily oracle pulls. I have two decks that I use: Raven’s Wand and Threads of Fate.

Raven’s Wand - A Rare Bloom

Flora Greyswan lost an eye as punishment for being a witch. Since childhood she has struggled to accept the hurt, anger, and even misplaced shame. She has good reason to feel these things, but she knows her eye patch will always be with her, so what good can dwelling on past pain do? She tells herself this whenever she sinks into self-pity, and instead focuses on nurturing the earth, for she is Wildwood’s most gifted garden witch. Immersed in her gardens she feels secure and sometimes dares wonder if hardship has in fact made her stronger?

This card resonated with me today as I’ve been dealing with a MDD relapse. The hardships we endure indeed make us stronger! Every challenge we face and overcome allows us to grow as a person and understand ourselves on a deeper level. I just need to figure out what I need to be learning this round.

Threads of Fate - The Revolutionary

The Revolutionary card is asking you to challenge the status quo. Whether it is external or internal, the Revolutionary seeks to do things radically different. Like the Outlaw, the Revolutionary has ideals that can be viewed as “out there.” They are a natural leader that can see what the collective needs and are able to put it into action. They invite others to be a part of building the world with them.

The Revolutionary invites us to bring some of the trailblazing energy and apply it to our situation and life. How can you meet the needs of the collective? How can you lead with integrity?

Be aware that working with Revolutionary energy does not always translate to being accepted and loved. You will have people that support you, but your work will attract naysayers. This just means it is potent and worthwhile - so not let anyone affect how you stand in the world. Allow their words to fuel your fire and keep going.

A balanced Revolutionary leads and empowers. They are not afraid to be direct and deliver a harsh message when necessary, but they do so with love. They are original thinkers that push the envelope - they are all about questioning things and inviting others to do the same. They are truth seekers, but fluid in how they find truth.

In the quest for the good of the greater collective, an unbalanced Revolutionary may become oppressive and use tactics that can be harmful. They also may become tyrannical and unable to hear others because they have some imbalanced ego issues.

Well if this doesn’t fit how I feel right now.

Trigger Warning - discussion about abortion

As a US and Texan woman, I was devastated Friday when SCOTUS overturned Roe vs. Wade. I am not pro-abortion, I am pro - CHOICE - being able to have the freedom to choose what I do with my own body. It boils down to the government (whether it be state or federal) is controlling what a woman can do with her body. Texas has a trigger ban that goes into effect 30 days from the ruling that outright bans all abortions, except in the “rare case of material life endangerment.” All weekend I have been stewing on what to do. Do I sit quiet because I’m past the point of it “affecting” me? Do I get involved and join protests to the state capital? Do I look for ways to assist those that have to make the difficult choice to have this procedure done? I really don’t know but I feel this card is telling me to take action, whatever I am called to take.

In addition to the above, this fits well with how I am developing my spiritual path. I am an eclectic green with and very much do my own thing. I follow my instincts and not what other time is the “right” way to practice. While I will not incorporate closed practices, I still will study them as I LOVE to learn about other people’s cultures. It helps me understand where they are coming from; how they see things differently from or the same as me; ways I can use my privileged voice to stand up for them. I’ve always been one to buck the system and go my own way so the Revolutionary card is perfect for me.

@Amaris_Bane thank you for sharing your oracle draws for the day! I have gotten out of the practice of writing in any of my journals. Something I was thinking about today as a way of reintroducing the practice into my daily routines. I am currently working on at least a daily morning meditation & check-in through the app Insight Timer. Whenever you finish a meditation, you can update your daily check-in mood & feelings at the time. It’s become a regular part of my practice & self-care. The first card, “A Rare Bloom” really has a meaning for me today & with some current events. :revolving_hearts:

I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

What it is that we want & what it is that we need can be two separate things, and when it is so, is often the difference between self-indulgence and self-care. Reflect upon the difference between these two in your life. Ask yourself if they have meant the same thing to you and how this might have impacted your journey.
