April, May, June 2022 Single Oracle/Rune/Tarot

One of my new practices is to journal in my Book of Mirrors daily. I have decided that part of that will include daily oracle pulls. I have two decks that I use: Raven’s Wand and Threads of Fate.

Raven’s Wand - A Rare Bloom

Flora Greyswan lost an eye as punishment for being a witch. Since childhood she has struggled to accept the hurt, anger, and even misplaced shame. She has good reason to feel these things, but she knows her eye patch will always be with her, so what good can dwelling on past pain do? She tells herself this whenever she sinks into self-pity, and instead focuses on nurturing the earth, for she is Wildwood’s most gifted garden witch. Immersed in her gardens she feels secure and sometimes dares wonder if hardship has in fact made her stronger?

This card resonated with me today as I’ve been dealing with a MDD relapse. The hardships we endure indeed make us stronger! Every challenge we face and overcome allows us to grow as a person and understand ourselves on a deeper level. I just need to figure out what I need to be learning this round.

Threads of Fate - The Revolutionary

The Revolutionary card is asking you to challenge the status quo. Whether it is external or internal, the Revolutionary seeks to do things radically different. Like the Outlaw, the Revolutionary has ideals that can be viewed as “out there.” They are a natural leader that can see what the collective needs and are able to put it into action. They invite others to be a part of building the world with them.

The Revolutionary invites us to bring some of the trailblazing energy and apply it to our situation and life. How can you meet the needs of the collective? How can you lead with integrity?

Be aware that working with Revolutionary energy does not always translate to being accepted and loved. You will have people that support you, but your work will attract naysayers. This just means it is potent and worthwhile - so not let anyone affect how you stand in the world. Allow their words to fuel your fire and keep going.

A balanced Revolutionary leads and empowers. They are not afraid to be direct and deliver a harsh message when necessary, but they do so with love. They are original thinkers that push the envelope - they are all about questioning things and inviting others to do the same. They are truth seekers, but fluid in how they find truth.

In the quest for the good of the greater collective, an unbalanced Revolutionary may become oppressive and use tactics that can be harmful. They also may become tyrannical and unable to hear others because they have some imbalanced ego issues.

Well if this doesn’t fit how I feel right now.

Trigger Warning - discussion about abortion

As a US and Texan woman, I was devastated Friday when SCOTUS overturned Roe vs. Wade. I am not pro-abortion, I am pro - CHOICE - being able to have the freedom to choose what I do with my own body. It boils down to the government (whether it be state or federal) is controlling what a woman can do with her body. Texas has a trigger ban that goes into effect 30 days from the ruling that outright bans all abortions, except in the “rare case of material life endangerment.” All weekend I have been stewing on what to do. Do I sit quiet because I’m past the point of it “affecting” me? Do I get involved and join protests to the state capital? Do I look for ways to assist those that have to make the difficult choice to have this procedure done? I really don’t know but I feel this card is telling me to take action, whatever I am called to take.

In addition to the above, this fits well with how I am developing my spiritual path. I am an eclectic green with and very much do my own thing. I follow my instincts and not what other time is the “right” way to practice. While I will not incorporate closed practices, I still will study them as I LOVE to learn about other people’s cultures. It helps me understand where they are coming from; how they see things differently from or the same as me; ways I can use my privileged voice to stand up for them. I’ve always been one to buck the system and go my own way so the Revolutionary card is perfect for me.

@Amaris_Bane thank you for sharing your oracle draws for the day! I have gotten out of the practice of writing in any of my journals. Something I was thinking about today as a way of reintroducing the practice into my daily routines. I am currently working on at least a daily morning meditation & check-in through the app Insight Timer. Whenever you finish a meditation, you can update your daily check-in mood & feelings at the time. It’s become a regular part of my practice & self-care. The first card, “A Rare Bloom” really has a meaning for me today & with some current events. :revolving_hearts:

Inner Child Oracle

  • (By: Amanda Lynn Hails)

I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

The beauty of nature offers our souls unlimited nourishment. Go outside today & connect with the earth. Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, touch the softness of a plant, listen to the babble of a stream. Dig your toes into the rich soil & feel yourself connected to this wondrous place we call home.

Inner Child Oracle

  • (By: Amanda Lynn Hails)
I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

What it is that we want & what it is that we need can be two separate things, and when it is so, is often the difference between self-indulgence and self-care. Reflect upon the difference between these two in your life. Ask yourself if they have meant the same thing to you and how this might have impacted your journey.

Thank you @Siofra_Strega for today’s card, the message is perfect for me

Anytime my friend! :revolving_hearts: it was good for me to hear this morning too! :slightly_smiling_face:

I felt called to pull a card this morning for everyone here (and myself, of course) and wanted to share it with you. This is from my Spirits and Shadows Oracle Deck :tarot_card: and I shuffled until I felt it was time to stop.

From the guidebook…
Love requires vulnerability. It is a teacher and healer. Loving yourself without conditions prepares you to love another person – wholly. Be gentle with yourself and practice self-love. Your heart is a sanctuary.

For my own personal interpretation, love yourself today. Choose things that make you happy. Allow yourself to heal, grieve, and rest as needed. Love pulls us in many different directions → love for ourselves, our family and friends, the things we enjoy, and the communities we surround ourselves with. Those strings that tug on our heart are only as strong as we let them be, so do you also allow yourself to be loved in return? If you are only giving love but not receiving it, you will feel out of balance. Strengthen the ties that bind you to the ones you care about and give yourself the space to feel the love others have for you, too.

I did all 3 yesterday & that’s my plan this afternoon too! Things are different around here & there have been some big changes since last Thursday that I am working through. :hugs:

Hooray for healing! :tada:
