Hello, everyone. My name is Susan. I currently live in Clayton, Georgia. It si sa tiny, very ruarl community. The land scape is @ 80% National Forest, State Park land, or WMA. It is located in the Southern Appalchian Mountain range. The cellular service is atrocious, but it is worth the compromise in terms of natural beauty.
I have known this was my path, perhaps my whole life I have known this, but I guess I was conditioned to be ashamed of that…?? Growing up in the South? Being raised as Southern Baptist? Well, I can honestly say that the Southern Baptist church ultimately only gave me trauma.
My church is in Nature. My cathredals are designed by trees. My frescoes and stained glass are shaped by their canopies. I love all things plants, and I am moderately advanced in my knowledge of homeopathy. I am efficient at plant identification and uses. Next year, I want yo plant three different gardens- culinary, medicinal, and magical.
Welcome to the pack ! Sounds like you are doing great. Love to hear more about your plant, herbs and gardens. So, does this make you a kitchen witch?
I’m 61 in Vegas, Baby, Vegas, an eclectic and recent returnee to the craft. I host Tarot Talks if you wish to stop by. Be sure to look at Merry Meet Monday for the week, it is really helpful.
Have a great time looking around, and I am looking forward to hearing more from you.
You are certainly not alone! The path of healing from religious trauma is heavily travelled and I´m sure you will find kindred spirits in this forum who´ve been through similar experiences.
Awesome!! I´m relying on my books and the advice from my knowledgeable pharmacist when it comes to homeopathy or Bach flowers. I know enough about it to realize how complex the subject is, and I take my hat off to you!
I´m Katharina, an art-witch and art therapist from Vienna, Austria! I´m practicing magick very much through art making! I love altar craft, candle making, poppet work, spell boxes, jars and all kinds of creative magic shenanignas. Working in my Book of Shadows is a big part of my practice. I love all things tarot and practice this art since many moons.
The forum is huge and it takes time to get to know everything. The people here are very sweet and helpful, so just make yourself known if there´s any questions, someone will certainly show up to help you.
Hi, @susan11! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum!
It’s nice to meet you! You sound like a wonderful Forest Witch! I tip my hat to you for surviving the Southern Baptists. I never went to that church, but there were a LOT of people who did where I grew up. They were… interesting.
I look forward to hearing about your gardens! I’m not good at growing things myself. I could kill a plastic plant, I think. And if you want, you can share pictures of your area! We’d love to see it!
About me: I’m an Eclectic Witch who likes candle magic, chants, and a bit of chaos magic. Just a smidge. I’m a bit weird too, but aren’t we all?
Anyhow, it’s nice to meet you! I look forward to getting to know you!
Welcome back, @susan11 ! My goodness, Clayton is definitely up there in the mountains - gorgeous country! My husband and I drove up to Tallulah Gorge quite often to hike and camp, back in the day. I left Georgia about 4 years ago, last lived in Madison which is about 30 miles south of Athens, if that rings a bell.
Tough part of the state to live in with your practice, no doubt. I’m quite familiar. It sounds like you’re putting your skills to good use with plant identities, and what a great idea to plant different gardens by their special properties.
I’m Feathertip, now living in SE Michigan to be closer to my elderly Mom. I’m a lifelong Pagan with a Nature oriented practice, too - though our growing season is shorter here. I practice Yogic meditation and use Lenormand cards for divination.
Looking forward to seeing you around the forum and getting to know you better. Blessings.
Merry Meet @susan11 and welcome back to the Forum. It is lovely to meet you and reading your craft is wonderfully based on Green/Forest/Kitchen, nature and healing. I look forward to reading your posts and am interested what plants you choose for each go your gardens you are creating and their uses especially the healing/medical part as nature does provide and what you have learned.

My mother used to say this. I’m glad you have chosen to follow your heart instead of others systems you were expected to follow. I’m a recovering Catholic, myself. Relax and enjoy your time, here.
