Hey friends,
I made it through eye surgery #1! It really wasn’t as terrible as I was expecting and it was very fast! The only issue was that FedEx changed their delivery time and didn’t let the surgery center know and my new lenses were on that delivery so my surgery had to be postponed while they transferred lenses from a different surgery center. It took about two extra hours, but I’m thankful that I didn’t have to cancel surgery today. My eye looks great so far and we are on track for doing my second eye tomorrow. Thank you so much for all the thoughts and energy. I was so calm and that’s really unusual for me! Please keep them coming for tomorrow!
My eye is a little swollen and so my vision is still blurry and the dilation is wearing off, but I think I can tell a little bit of difference so far. The doctor said as the Swelling goes down my vision will clear.
You are looking good @AileyGrey
I had the same plastic eye protector! My vision was better by the next day after surgery!
It’s good to hear from you!
Much love and big hugs!
I am so glad that your first surgery was a success and I am hoping for the same with your second surgery. It is amazing how quickly these procedures can be done and the care tools that have been invented - plastic eye patches, goggles for double eye surgery. I hope everything goes well and you are able to enjoy the view of your smile in the mirror - vision is a true gift.
Surgery # 2 was also a success, though a little more problematic. My iris kept trying to “pop out” (surgeon’s words, not mine) and he had to keep pushing it back into place. It was… uncomfortable… and because of all the pushing, I ended up with a corneal abrasion that was super, super painful today. I went in to have everything checked once more before the long weekend and it all looks good. I got some drops for the corneal abrasion, which is feeling so much better now and some drops to bring my eye pressure down (it was up just a bit, but also still within normal). I can see so clearly. I really didn’t realize how badly I was seeing until today. The surgeon said my vision is testing 3 times better than it was at this time yesterday and I still have swelling and healing to do. It will continue to improve for about the next 6 weeks. Whoa! Today, I had to shrink all the icons and fonts on my computer! I can read my phone without my glasses… it’s wild! When we were driving, I could see so far down the road… y’all… it’s amazing!
Thank you for all the love and support! I couldn’t have done it without you. I am so excited to see what I can see over the next few weeks!
Well… he didn’t say that during the surgery… but it was definitely obvious something was going on. He was so calm… he told me after the fact when I remarked that the second surgery was not as “pleasant” as the first. Apparently I have some wacky eye anatomy! But anyway, it’s done, I am amazed at what I can see! He was awesome.
I’m so glad everything went well @AileyGrey Thanks for letting us know! When I had my surgery I was asleep, they knocked me out which was probably a good thing because I was so anxious and worried. They did my surgeries 2 weeks apart.
Love and hugs dear one!
Hahaha I remember feeling exactly the same way when I first got my glasses- it was like living in a whole new world! So clear, so much to see!
I’m really glad to hear the second surgery went well (minus a little eye-popping excitement ) and that you and your vision are doing okay post-operation. Keeping you in my thoughts as you continue to heal- enjoy your awesome new vision abilities!
