Greetings everybody,
Do any of you have suggestions on how to calm the brain during stressful times so that you can create a clear intention for spell work? I really feel my spell hasn’t worked because I haven’t been able to clearly create my intentions.
I know how you feel. Sometimes, the emotions get just too intense. When the grocery stores went out in our neighborhood last year, I felt so intensely terrorized that I couldn’t think straight. I really fell apart here in the forum, thinking I wouldn’t survive. Yet here I am, still under oppression, but nearly rebuilt.
There isn’t much I could have done. Everyone was supportive, here, but I couldn’t get a hold of myself. I tried cord cutting spells and all I was told to do, but my heart wasn’t in it. Not much came of my spells. Thus all I could do was wait until some of the mess passed.
If you’re not that bad off, you may be able to see that what you are feeling isn’t your fault. Others may be putting too much on your shoulders. Refuse to let any of that in. It’s not yours, so refuse to do anything about it. Easier said than done, I know, but that’s all I was able to do when the mess got intense again this year. This time, though, I can see a bit more clearly.
I was often told that when escaping, responsibility follows you wherever you go. Yet this intense mess wasn’t mine, and I refuse to have anything to do with it. At this point, I see how others are putting things on me when they don’t want to do their jobs. These are things I can escape from because they aren’t mine. Spells aren’t making enough of a difference, so I am allowed to disappear with no forwarding address. Once I’m out, it is up to me to stay out. That is also easier said than done.
This is my personal experience, though. Your situation is going to be different. My advice is to do the best you can with what you have, but make sure the issue is yours in the first place. Drop everything else just because it isn’t yours. You don’t have to save someone else, when they don’t care about you.
There are times when an issue just isn’t clear enough to work on. There is only one issue. You simply don’t know what to think about it. This may be a clue to sit back and do nothing. Let it take care of itself.
I sure hope some of this helps. My family has never been able to handle stress, so maybe others would have better advice for all of us!
Thank you @georgia. I think I do need to step back and see what I have control of and what I need to just let go and let my intuition and universe guide me. It’s just hard to step back and look without emotions getting in the way.

Intentions are so important!
For meditation and when I’m a bit frazzled, I wait until I’m tired. Like really tired. There are mind space exercises that also recommend that. I can wait until late at night, or take a Melatonin. Others dance, sing, chant, use sex, heavy exercise, etc. Calming herbs/herb teas might work. There are also techniques here on Spells8. You can search on ‘calming techniques’ (and variants) to find them.
Candle therapy works for my SO (like really well) and for me, too. Here is a link to different candle meditations. HERE The while candle is my favorite. These meditations guide you through breath work which really helps
Hello lovely. I’m Tracy. I’ve recently discovered a new technique from Therapy in a Nutshell. Here it is, it’s totally opposite to everything anyone’s ever said to me but oh my, it works.
When your mind is all over the place, and/or you’re having a panic attack - embrace it. Embrace the emotions. Basically you need to remove the fear in your mind. Your emotions are at high panic level so your brain thinks you’re not safe, this heightens the panic which increases the brain fog. Don’t try breathing through it, that tells the brain there is a problem and makes the brain think you’re not safe. Instead embrace the fear.
Here’s mine.
Panic attack, emotions go wild, brain fog.
Ask myself why am I suddenly panicky, oh yeah saw that news article about bills going up again
“Ok, bring it on, put those bloody bills up, go on, I don’t give a shit this ain’t no big deal, if I starve, screw it come on, it’s all crap anyway. I am not scared, this feeling is good, like that rollercoaster, we’re going up and whee we’re about to go down. ”
Amazingly, when talking out loud to yourself like that, the brain starts to realign and think, oh this ain’t scary, ok, no need to stay in flight/fight mode. It works and it works quick. You may find that after a few minutes, the panic and fog will start again, just do it again. Keep doing this and eventually your mind and body will associate these feelings with embracing rather than running. And once your mind is clear again, grap a cuppa and set your intent.

Hey there! I’m sorry you’re going through this. If you have hobby you can really sink yourself into, doing that before magic might help you. I like to read, others crochet or knit. Maybe you can paint, or draw. Anything that will get you out of your head and into something else.
There’s also a video that’s on my watch later playlist. Which is just about as long as my to read list, but never mind. LOL!
But I like the creator of this channel and trust her, so this might help you out. I hope so!

Like everyone else, I know how you feel; I have personal experience, and I think this is one of the top 5 issues my clients have. There are a gazillion techniques, tips and tricks which we can give you, but firstly understand that what works for one person may not work for you. Secondly, that being said, if it does work for you (praying that it does), it may not work every time you have this issue. This is why I encourage clients to have a range of coping techniques, so that there is always something which can help in challenging situations.
Calming techniques, in my experience, work differently to panic techniques. Depending on the energy - nervous, stressed, excited - there are times when I just need to put it somewhere, which is why I made my absorb orb. You can do the same thing, for example you can release the energy into a crystal good for absorbing energy, or an object of your choosing. It may help to put on music which calms you to help aid the process; note, I didn’t say calming music, I said music which calms you - if heavy metal calms you down, listen to that.
Panic attacks I view differently because, again in my experience, it is a physical reaction to the emotional turmoil; once the emotions have got to the point of pushing my body into a panic atack, I only know of one way that works for me. I view it as it is, which means that whatever thoughts or emotions got me there are now irrelevant, my body is in panic mode and that is physical, so I need to focus on the physical, which means focusing whatever brainpower I have left into calming my heart rate down. Thinking happy thoughts doesn’t work for me, neither does letting it go or other helpful suggestions because my body and brain are past the point of reasoning. All I can do is slow my heart rate down, so that’s what I focus on, I focus on slowing my breathing until I no longer feel my heart is about to explode out of my chest.
There is the other side to your question, which is whether you should listen to what’s happening? Most of the time, our anxieties and fears can play havoc with our emotions, but every now and again, I have to ask myself whether it’s time to focus on the things swirling around my brain. If not, maybe you can get them down on paper; I call it putting things in the car park - you can come back to it later, right now you need to focus on the main event.
Maybe you could write the intentions out - sometimes it helps to see something written to figure out what needs to be changed. But always bear in mind, when your intentions are pure, the Universe knows…so go easy on yourself.
