So I’m trying to make my wand and wrap a crystal and wondering if anyone has any tips for keeping the crystal secured properly? I want it to be really secure. I’ve been trying for sometime and it’s really been difficult!

The thrifty witch in me is saying “hot glue”! 
Hot glue should work pretty well and be cheap if you have a hot glue gun (they are usually very inexpensive to buy and can be found in most craft stores).
If you are looking for something a bit more complex, maybe try wire wrapping? You can get some wire at a craft or jewelry store and some pliers. I’d recommend getting a soft or medium metal wire as it will be easier to bend. People make some very beautiful wire wrapping wands and jewelry!

Here’s another one made with hot glue but this one was made with a flashlight to make it look real. I thought that was very creative!

The travel which, I got some wire copper for my crystal and I actually have a maple branch that has a bonsai wire going through the branch! My husband said it’s solder wire !so it turns out looking like it’s really twisted and it looks really good! I thought wow that looks unique and so I figured I could sand it down and possibly put a crystal on the top and use copper! I’m going to use wood stain what do you think about that?
In Buckland’s witchcraft book he mentioned some thing about Having ash or will Willow or Hazel! Mines is maple tree branch! I’m just barely learning about plants and trees ever since I came to the craft I have explored many different sticks and branches that have came home with me from walks with my dog. I think it’s kind of funny ! One of my branches is Manzanita and it is really pretty! I want to put liquid plastic( verathane). Oh yeah before I forget in Buckland’s complete book of witchcraft he mentions that the one should be 21 inches long!
I like to make my own stuff, I feel like it’s more meaningful! Although I do want one from Etsy. Com A athame they are really pretty!
I made a wand, out of selenite and it’s really nice! I put gems on it! I’ll show you a picture When I figure out how to download a picture onto this website.
I actually have a couple projects going right now at the same time! I have I have so many different projects going it’s hard for me to focus on one thing! I wonder if others have that problem too! Thanks for the video Brianna thanks for all your thoughts too!

I tried to find the LED light that will be fun! Hope depot did not have it!
I have a pretty large crystal for my wand! I want to use copper wire! I think the copper wire is so much more glamorous! I still need to get Some tools too! It’s Definitely a process and not going to happen overnight!

As for wood stain, I’ve only used it on furniture before- but I imagine it can give a wand a nice finish and help to protect it for a long time.
It sounds like you have been learning a lot about different kinds of wood and making wands- so exciting! Yes, please share a pic when you’ve finish the current project- I can’t wait to see it

What a gorgeous wand, @Jeannie1! I love how you used the wire to accentuate the natural twist in the branch- it’s very cool Where are you trying to attach a crystal? The top, bottom, or in the middle where the bend is?

The Travel Witch, I am trying to attach the crystal to the top of the wand. Or I guess I could attach it to the top on its side! I saw Francisco’s on the very top.

Thanks Kasie, I was thinking about taking the wire off but I kind a like the wire there! I think it’s unique too! I’m happy with it! I had a selenite crystal that I was using for samhain and now I can’t find it! I hope I find it!

It looks good. As long as it’s not iron I’d say leave it. It’s very pretty. I hope you find your crystal. Did you look in your pockets? That’s where I stick mine and forget them.

I have been trying to identify trees and so I got on Google assistant and you could just take a picture of the tree and it will tell you what kind of plant or tree it is! Since coming to witchcraft it has been making my life feel a lot more meaningful. I’ve had great adventures looking up trees! I’m a tree higher too!
