So I’m usually not home on the weekends but I feel I have baths to take on certain days or any kind of magic work , is it ok for me to do it being that I am not home ?

Absolutely! Work doesn’t have to be done at an altar. Altars like we have today are a fairly modern concept and tool. In the “old days”, people did work wherever they could find or wherever was convenient for them. Altars were usually more like shrines for local Gods, house spirits, and similar beings.
