Fabulous February, Today is February 1, 2026. Just opening up the “yap” for February. Well, over here, the moon is beautiful this early morning. Imbolc everyone. How is the beginning of the beginning going for you? Nice start here in Vegas, unusually warm for us.
I would like to complain about the beginning of the month and get a new one, because this one isn’t working properly. The cloud cover over Vienna is so thick that you can’t even hear the airplanes, let alone see them. That’s not what I ordered!
I so hope to catch a glimpse of Lady Full Moon tonight!
Happy February. Here Thor is home, the sky is grey, it’s wet, cold but not freezing a typical English West country February day, and I love it.
Happy Imbolc. I sit on the beautiful M4 on my way to visit family. I say beautiful as the scenery is lovely. Tried to capture it but not easy taking photos at speed.
Well, I missed Imbolc by one day. I am a solar witch, so I celebrate the night celebration the day before (if that makes any sense….Imbolc is for tomorrow, but the moon enters today, is this the wrong day?) I always tell everyone to do what works for them, now I am a little confused, when the “day” starts in the Witches calendar.
Too funny
Lovely pictures!!! Being here in Vegas, and having a yearly rainfall of less than 3 inches a year, I have learned to LOVE cloudy days. The closeness of the clouds seems to feel cozy to me. Perfect day to open the doors and windows and fire, and chocolate….yeah
Woah, that’s dry. We’re heading home now, and Thor has blessed us with proper rain now and the sky, it’s like if you stretched up you can touch it. Hope it stays so when I get home I can collect some rain water.
Tracy, LOVELY pictures. If we have a downpour, we get flash floods. Our ground is so dried out, that it cannot soak the water up quick enough. Spring rain here in Vegas = FLOODS. But, also, when we get a little sprinkle, the desert really knows how to use water. The little fauna will start to sprout the next day. With a few days of light rain, a week later we have a carpet of green across the valley. Unfortunately, those from “greener pastures” do not really “see” when it greens up, to them, it is still brown. For us, it is a brown/green, stuff is growing!! Not kidding when wasting water is a “killing offense”, we ARE the wild west. We even have laws for Winter and Summer watering. We even have laws for grass and plants in your yard. Certain plants are illegal, unless it was here before??? whatever year, then it is “grandfathered” in. A term we use from the casinos “grandfathered in”. If you choose to have grass for your yard, you have to pay an extra quarterly fee for the waste of the water. Olive trees are now illegal, because of the bad allergies. We are so dry that there is NO humidity to weigh down the pollen. Allergies here are a b***! So, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the rain!!! Laughing note…..I was on a bus in Guadalajara with my 2 kids (7 and under 1 year) when it started to downpour, the bus took a turn and was moving away from where I needed to go. I finally saw a street that I knew, got out, and started walking to where I needed to go (about a mile away), not knowing enough Spanish, or the phone number, I could not call the house. So here I am, walking/wading/pushing through knee-high flood water with 2 kids. People start looking out their windows at me in disbelief. Where was I to go? What was I to say? Just kept on “truckin’”….showed up at home about 30 minutes later soaked to the bone, looking like a wet dog with her pups It was an experience!!! Hey, that’s what life is about, experiences. Been through tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes….but all good, “fun, good times”…experiences!!!
The day started with actual sun outside, so I’m already very happy. It lights up the snow and the bare tree branches look amazing against the brilliant blue sky.
When I opening the blinds at my bedroom window, a bright little sparrow was hopping around the tree branches and chirping happily, just inches away! I can’t tell you how much that delighted me.
I hope it stays clear enough to see the full Moon tonight!
It’s a great start to February. Later I’ll be in the kitchen cutting up a butternut squash and peeling potatoes for soup. I have a Ciabatta bread round and a fat salad ready.
Oh, and I don’t want to forget my cinnamon spell for the 1st day of the month. Look at me, actually remembering this!
I woke up about three hours later than I expected. I guess I needed the rest, but man am I behind today!
Maybe there’s an airline strike and no planes overhead for you to hear? Hope the weather changes for you!
The pics are great for being from a car! You done good! Hope you’ve had a good visit!
I’m starting mine at sunset tonight, and then doing my main ritual tomorrow morning. You know, since I woke up late today.
Oh that sounds great! Yum!
Y’all, I am three hours behind myself today. And I’m gonna try to go out tomorrow morning early for my doctor’s appointments. Which will be fun, since the parking lot is a skating rink. Fat Chick On Ice, live from WV! I wonder if I can find a sparkly one-piece for me and a matching banner for my rollator?
Thank-you for the reminder about the cinnamon, I got up and did it, right after I read the post, and before I made this one. Seems many of us caught the “sleeping” bug this weekend Lady Gene
It’s only weird if the cinnamon is blown back at you whilst you’re doing the spell, then your neighbours will think there’s ghosts you could have fun with that one.
Good morning all. I had a great night’s sleep on my new cpap/asv machine and had NO APNEA events all night! I’m sure that’s a fluke, but I’ll take it
It’s a gorgeous day in Texas. It’s a bit chilly - 42F but bright sunshine.
I did my Imbolc ritual this morning and included the crystals I had charged under the moon last night.
I don’t do the cinnamon spell. I think I read somewhere not to do it if you have cats in the house. Not sure if that’s true, but don’t want to risk it.
Ooh yeah maybe it’s no good for cats, you could mentally manifest the cinnamon and still do the ritual without the actual cinnamon, the energy is what’s important really.
