okay, here in the desert it’s lizards, had 4 scorpions last month in the house, cricket infestation this year, but at least minimal Black Widow Spiders…and hey…no hornets this year…that’s about all of my desert fauna :upside_down_face:

Lady Gene :woman_dancing: :sun_moon_star:

 back in the 70’s I used to catch wild rabbits and sell them to the local kids for a buck

know all about lizards, caught them too, the horny toads and blue-tail lizards [the blue-tails snap off, if you do not catch them close enough to the base of the tail… :upside_down_face: if you catch it wrong…a wriggling blue tail in your hand]

My husband and I are heading up there for a few days at the end of October for our anniversary, which happens to be the day before Samhain. We stay in Honeymoon Hill cabin - we feel like it’s “ours” we have stayed there so often.

Since we’ll actually be driving back down to Houston on Samhain itself, I will celebrate the Sabbat early, out in nature.

As I sat outside in the courtyard for half an hour after taking out the trash, I received a flyby from a hummingbird! I’d been talking to a couple who were hunting bugs in the trees on the other side of the covered playground. They don’t seem prepared to travel as yet, but we still have temps in the mid 90’s. Right now, the mosquito population is out of control, despite the drought; so the hummers have plenty to eat, even without flowers to sip. I put my hands in two different gound areas, and both were baked hard, softly dusty, and dry enough to blow away in the lightest breeze.
