Fun Friday (Part 2)

Hmmm I don’t remember that chicken sandwich from KFC, I missed out on that one!

A friend when I dearly needed someone… and she has stayed through the worst.

Overdoing the cleaning when I feel good enough to get some done and then being unable to do anything until the next time I need to clean, a week later. It seems to be a symptom of not having the bills paid from the move. Don’t get me wrong: I’ve done all I can. Other authority figures are dragging their feet, not cashing my check in one case, charging me for Housing’s delay in another, and a third authority figure losing paperwork needed to get things moving.

This question reminds me of a joke from the 1980’s. Parents got so frustrated with kids’ food choices that they would simply say “eat it: it’s green: it’s good for you.” The kids responded with eating green crayons.

A bit of both. I wrap my taco in paper, and it still squeegees out.

Nah. This is supposed to be fun. The best I could come up with is “Misunderstood.”

You know, I thought about adding (as child or adult) in there, but that seemed to take away some spontaneity. Your answer is great.

Awesome reply. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What a precious gift. That’s wonderful.

:joy:

That’s a very compelling title. :people_hugging:

I’m here, soul sister! @Feathertip I’m ready to have fun!

    1. What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
    2. What is a habit you’re trying to change?
    3. If you had to eat a crayon out of a box of 64, what color would it be?
    4. When you eat a taco, do you turn the taco sideways or turn your head sideways? And does the sauce and stuffing still fall out?
    5. If someone wrote your biography, what would the title be?
  1. My boujie coffee system a friend got for me on my last birthday! It does everything and I am totally, completely, addicted to coffee (and tea)! Who needs Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts!
  2. Habit? Habit? I like all my habits, good or bad, so I don’t think I would change a thing lol! No. Wait. I would stop playing with my ears. I have my dad’s dumbo sized ears and when I’m anxious, I play with them without realizing half the time. I do it so much I swear I’m changing the shape of em!
  3. Yellow. Because then I could bring the sunshine in when my inner world is draped in gray from my depression. Too deep?
  4. I always turn my head sideways in both directions to catch the drippings! I eat the middle last because that’s where all the good stuff is!!! My favorite is fish tacos!!
  5. “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble”

That sounds like an awesome gift! Practical but so rewarding to be able to make what you like.

Nope. It’s perfect. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Happy Friday, lovelies! It’s time for another round of Fun Friday!

Are we ready? Let’s do this…

  1. What superpower would you NOT want?

  2. Do you have a favorite color? What is it?

  3. You just finished dinner, folded your napkin and pushed back from the table and declared: “That was the best meal I ever had!” What did you have?

  4. Do you like to sing in the shower? If so, what’s your personal best?

  5. What’s your favorite smell? Don’t worry, no one will judge.

I’ll be back later with my own answers! Have fun! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

whew - busy Friday, running around - hope everyone’s week is winding down peacefully! :folded_hands:

I would not want to read minds. Sometimes it’s better not to know what people are thinking, and just rely on your intuition.

My current favorite color is purple, leaning purple-blue. I’m on a big swing here - there was a time when I would have said yellow! But yellow is the complementary color of purple (violet), so it kinda makes sense, I guess.

mmm…dinner. I would have started with some kind of scrumptious appetizer: a one-bite savory kind of thing. Just enough to whet the appetite. Entree would be a perfect medium-rare roast beef, juicy and well-seasoned. Crisp seared green beans on the side, with rosemary and sage-roasted red potatoes. All of this would be washed down with chilled sparkling water and a hearty red wine. :wine_glass: Dessert would be some kind of egg custard: flan, maybe, or a simple custard topped with fresh berries. Cappuccino for a final sipping.

…anyone else hungry? :fork_and_knife:

I don’t sing in the shower as much as I used to, but when I did, my go-to was anything bright and happy. Early in the Morning by Vanity Fare comes to mind, or something by the B52s! These days I tend to sing along more in the car, where the music drowns out my voice. :joy:

I was thinking fresh ground coffee, which is really hard to beat…but it could be that baking bread beats it. I have to call it a toss-up.

Mind reading. I do NOT want to know what some people are thinking. Sheesh.

My favorite color all my life has been purple. I was just as obsessed with it at ten as I am now.

Steak, baked potato, salad with house ranch dressing, and garlic bread. Yum!

Not really. I’ll hum sometimes, but I’ve never been one to sing in the shower. Too busy washing I guess.

Books. The smell of books when you go into a bookstore, be it old or new, is amazing. That’s one thing I hate about a Kindle: it doesn’t smell right.

I promise I did NOT look at yours! Great minds think alike!

Both of those are good, but not as good as new books. LOL!

You know what? You’re right on with this! I love the smell of books! I think it’s older ones where maybe the pages have cured, or whatever it is they do - it’s awesome.

Frankly, it’s a big reason I continue to resist Kindle, although I do understand how handy it must be. My mom and sister swear by them! I’m just not ready. I love opening a book and being welcomed by the smell. :open_book:

Hahaha!! I believe you! I was cracking up while reading along. Great minds do think alike!

  • What’s your favorite dinosaur?

Archaeopteryx, not only is it fun to say  but it can fly!

  • When were you the most proud of yourself?

Probably when I graduated college in my 40’s while dealing with multiple challenges. Although showing quarter horses and winning 4-H championships was up there…

  • If you could combine two animals into a pet, what would they be? And what would you call your new animal creation?

Definitely a dog and a cat, preferably one that doesn’t shed (I made this with AI). Perhaps we call it a Puppercat?

  • Which is better - creamy or crunchy peanut butter?

Creamy

  • What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?

A witch

Cool!! I had to look this one up, and yes - it had feathers and hollow bones like a bird - but teeth, too! I learned something today. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I had a Quarter horse as a youngun. We were besties.

I love your Puppercat!

I don’t want anyone else’s idea of a superpower. If I have it, it should be mine from the ground up. That way, I can study it, learn it’s strengths and weaknesses, understand it’s deepest value, and make the most of it over time rather than be thrust into it by surprise.

My first favorite color was red. Mom said that was her fave, too, so I changed mine to pink. I didn’t want to be anything like her.

Then I realized that my attraction to color changed with the seasons.

I craved all color whenever I had to move or travel.

Now, I seem to be settling on yellow. Why? Perhaps because it is so hard to find in my size right now, as though stylists believe big people, the asymmetrical, or the economically repressed have no right to a style of their own. What ever happened to the laughing Buddha image? Why do I have to wear black or navy blue even in summer?!? Soo depressing!

Grandma’s goose egg noodles with chicken over mashed potatoes. I’ll add in broccoli.

I did when I was in choir. After years of chronic bronchitis or pneumonia, my voice is no longer up to par.

When I was first learning this song, someone mistakenly told me it was one of the songs in The Last Unicorn, so I clung to it. I even sang it on foreign shores.

Promise? OK, I’ll trust you.

Real skunk. Not skunk weed. It smells better than a diesel truck! :upside_down_face:

I found one in a library which smelled of heather. Heavenly!

Fantastic!

@georgia - how lovely! Great choral harmonies. The flute is so beautiful and soothing - my sister learned to play when we were kids and I was always in awe of that instrument. :flute:

That sounds unique and yummy! :face_savoring_food:

Not gonna judge - smells, like tastes, are totally subjective. We had a pair of skunks visiting our back yard a couple of summers ago, and they were very laid back. Cute little critters. Never wanted to engage them and give them a chance to spray me, though. :joy:

Yeah, wouldn’t want to wear it. I just enjoy the scent along the road while traveling.

I’m a sucker for superpowers, I’d probably learn to enjoy them all

Probably anything that I couldn’t control myself, like hearing everyone’s thoughts around me with no way to stop it. That would be pretty nightmarish. “Could you stop thinking about food? It’s making me hungry too!” :joy:

I’m partial to purples and pinks :purple_heart: :pink_heart: Shades of red are lovely too, especially rich ones like crimson and burgundy :heart_suit: Then there’s black and silver :black_heart: :silver_heart: Really, any metallic ones… and then sometimes I prefer a brighter palette. All of them?

There are so many delicious options… :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: I could go for a gourmet burger with crispy bacon, red onion, garlic, chili and BBQ sauce, paired with a nice red wine, maybe shiraz or chianti :face_savoring_food: :hamburger: :wine_glass:

And a warm cappuccino with lots of foam, from a pleasant looking and feeling cup, with white chocolate syrup, and some yuzu cake to go with that  :pink_heart:

I love it :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: Usually I just sing intuitively whatever comes to me. I think my personal best is “Dancing Mad” by Nobuo Uematsu. Especially since it has no vocals, is performed with a church organ and lasts for half an hour  :winking_face_with_tongue:

Anyone I have a crush on :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Oh, now that’s interesting. Do people with superpowers have the ability to control all of them? Flying seems controllable, but would the thoughts of others just invade your brain if you could read minds? That’s not a good place to be. Would you break fingers just shaking someone’s hand with super strength?

Now you’re talking! :joy:

Wow! That’s a workout for the vocal cords!

awww…

I’ve got some sandalwood and vanilla that’s close, but yeah. I’d kill for some good book smell. There’s candles, but they are expensive. I may have to splurge soon.

Well, I moved into an apartment, and I knew I wouldn’t have room for books, so I switched to a Kindle. I couldn’t fit all my books in my apartment, I’d have to sit and sleep on them or something.

Wow. Very much a thing to be proud of! Way to go!

Wow. Nice. Books just have such a lovely scent.

Heck, that happens to me just talking about food. Having someone think about food all the time would be awful!

What superpower would you NOT want?

Mind-reading - maybe if I could turn it on and off and be very selective…but I think it would be too overwhelming, maybe even scary and disheartening.

Do you have a favorite color? What is it?

Burgundy or Maroon - any of the deeper reds really. They feel so warm, comforting and calming to me.

You just finished dinner, folded your napkin and pushed back from the table and declared: “That was the best meal I ever had!” What did you have?

Tough one! I can’t stop thinking about the Lemongrass coconut soup I had last night, that was pretty amazing. But I think best ever would have to be a real Italian pasta dish

Do you like to sing in the shower? If so, what’s your personal best?

Not the shower, but I do love singing in the car - as loud as I can to Adele is deeply therapeutic!

What’s your favorite smell? Don’t worry, no one will judge.

Probably a real rose - I wasn’t sure what kind it was but at the last rose garden I visited, one of the varieties just had the perfect scent.

We seem to all be in agreement about this!

Oh - I love this, too. It’s sooooo savory and good! :steaming_bowl:

Agree 100%! Singing is a great release! I prefer to sing alone in the car so no one has to beg me to stop. :joy:

That sounds heavenly! :rose:
