Fun Friday

1.Tell us about something that made you smile this week:

Fun Friday! It always makes me smile. There were other times that would take a page to set up to understand why they were amusing (daughter and family can do crazy - laugh out loud - stuff)

2.Pineapple on a pizza…yay or nay?

For me it is the question of “Pizza… yay or nay?” (nay) However, I accept that jalapenos and pineapple make a good combo.

3.If you could write a book/movie, what would it be about?

(day dreaming here) I would like to write a book/script about belief systems and how they have helped/hurt our societies. Only make it the way Monty Python did them

4.If you could take a trip anywhere, where would you go?

I think a trip to Peru to live in the mountains for a few months would be a blast. I like the friendly people and the Andes mountains are very spiritual. There is a book called “Turn RIght at Machu Picchu” that got me on that kick Here we are getting ready to test our altitude fitness from our trip there. It was only a couple of weeks counting travel to and from.

.

5.What do you like to watch on TV?

Reality shows no, home shows, no, news no. Occasionally a series comes on that is great and I like specific game shows (The Wheel and Jeopardy). If the SO is not around, I turn the TV off.

Good luck with those scans. I know they can make you feel like a farmer captured by aliens and dropped in Area 51. I love The Stand, too, but I actually came down with the flu while I was reading it :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I tend to watch or listen to my audio book of The Stand when I’m really sick. Just to sort of wallow.in my illness. Lol!

Explora Science Museum- the grandson wanted to return to see the bubble cannon in action. It was a Saturday, so surely they’d have it out, right? Nope. But to see the mix of people enjoying playing with bubble makers was amazing: international, ages from 4 to 55, from special needs to college educated, bubble sizes from foam to 3 feet long.

Nay. I prefer my pineapple room temperature to bring out the unique combo of tart and sweet and acidic.

Philosophy- meaning of life stuff, based on personal experience.

I’m seeking a new home- anywhere I can survive independently and feel secure. At the moment, that is not here, but it could change.

Hoping for change in a place is like hoping to change a lover: not gonna happen if they don’t want to change. The first step is acceptance of their choices; second, acceptance that the environment isn’t supportive; third, trust that there is somewhere out there which is supportive; fourth, finding that supportive place; and fifth, gathering the courage and materials to go.

I have expressed my experiences to a higher power. Awaiting a response. Whatever that response is, I am ready to accept it: cleaning and organizing for a move if necessary. Still don’t know where to go, but I did express a request for my driver to take me out to look at places when we both have time.

The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind, and I am but a detached leaf.

I usually tell people I don’t have a TV. That isn’t entirely true. The TV is 12 inches- about the size of my laptop. It’s packed away. I don’t watch it unless I set up a dvd player with it and watch a rare movie.

I used to watch NASCAR and the Indy 500, Survivor, MacGyver, and Stargate. It has been too long since free TV channels had much of interest. Everything is online, now, so there isn’t much point. Maybe NOVA.

Ah, so that’s why I can point at a Volkswagon Beetle, but the words “Slug Bug” won’t come out! I get hit so often for that, my arms are bruised!

I second that emotion!

I’d read something like that. And now for something completely different…

1.Tell us about something that made you smile this week:

Now that I think about it… I haven’t smiled much this week… I may have to come back to this one. This week has been one of those laugh to keep from crying kind of weeks. I’m in pain, somewhat heartbroken, and I really want to quit my job but I don’t even feel like looking for another one right now. But in the meantime :dashing_away::dashing_away::dashing_away:

2.Pineapple on a pizza…yay or nay?
It’s a hxll no for me… I’ve been picking the pineapples off of pizza since I was a child and I will continue… :speaking_head:Pineapples DO NOT belong on pizza‼️(sorry this one was personal lmaoo)

3.If you could write a book/movie, what would it be about?
I would write a book movie about anything true crime or suspense related. I would definitely write a DIY book on some of my favorite hobbies/interests.

4.If you could take a trip anywhere, where would you go?
US: New York, Colorado, Florida (only because of Disney world… People from Florida are built different, no offense
Out of the Country: Jamaica, Brazil, Amsterdam

5.What do you like to watch on TV?
I don’t really watch a whole lot of TV… but when I do it’s usually nostalgic for me like all shows that I watched as a kid… cartoons especially. My go-to is always true crime or any kind of documentary.

I hope everyone has a blessed weekend:red_exclamation_mark::red_exclamation_mark::folded_hands:t5::sparkling_heart::hugs:

Yay - Fun Friday!! And I’m only one day late! ~sends up a cheer~

1.Tell us about something that made you smile this week:

A blue jay landed on top of the oriole feeder. I was watching through the kitchen window, and thinking “you little brat - there’s no way you want any of the nectar, and that jelly ain’t for you!” and then quite suddenly, a large male oriole came swooping in, knocked the jay off his perch, and proceeded to get a healthy drink of nectar. I not only smiled, this made me laugh out loud. Let the kids battle over the food!

2.Pineapple on a pizza…yay or nay?

Politely, that would be an emphatic NAY. Why ruin a delectable slice of pineapple with pizza? Why ruin an innocent pizza with slices of pineapple?

3.If you could write a book/movie, what would it be about?

I’d take a page from Larry David and write about human behavior - our daily silliness and idiosyncrasies - it would be a comedy, of course. It’s good to laugh at ourselves.

4.If you could take a trip anywhere, where would you go?

Rent a camper, pack in the hubby and two kitties and photography gear, and hit the roads of the USA for several months - I want to live like a gypsy for awhile with no place special in mind.

5.What do you like to watch on TV?

Cooking shows, the occasional comedy or movie. No scary stuff; life’s quite enough.

Thank you, @Nikki-Phoenix ! You rock, babe!

Hello!:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thank you @Nikki-Phoenix for the new set of questions!

1.Finish this sentence: ‘If you go down to the woods today…’
… you’ll find mushrooms! I don’t know why! That’s the first thing that pops in my head!:woman_shrugging:t2:

2.You’re at the seaside…what are you doing?
I’m sitting on the ground and I wait for the waves to come over my feet. I remember the last time I went to see my daughter in France, we just sat on the pebbles and wait for the waves. She is living close to Nice, at a walking distance to Mediterranean Sea🌊

3.What is making your world spin at the moment?
My family, the human and non-human members! Also, it’s almost summer here, and there’s a lot of life to watch! Birds, spiders, squirrels, cats, trees, plants, insects… name it!

4.What’s your favourite magickal talisman/amulet at the moment?
My pentacle on a chain.

5.Tell us about a healthy snack you like.
Fruits!!! I can’t eat fruits as much as I would, but it’s my favorite anyway!

6.If you could send love to any area of the world right now, where would you send it?
Everywhere where war and violence are… :haiti: :ukraine: :western_sahara: :yemen: and so many other places…

Same! And thank you for sharing the gawjus pictures, I am not at all jealous…okay I totally am

Same, same, same lol! Especially stupid and vulgar jokes, totally with you there.

Aww thanks guys! Shucks lol, I’m just glad y’all enjoy it! I don’t always get the chance to reply but I always read and I always laugh!

That does sound amazing! I took K to Bubble Planet a few months ago, it sounds very similar - highly recommend any kind of bubble fun to be fair.

Sending healing energy your way :sparkles: :yellow_heart: :folded_hands:t5:

That is exactly why I went to Florida, and even though I’m a Brit, in my experience yes Florida folk are built different and I love em hahaha!

Same but you say it better, when I say that I sound like a geek :see_no_evil_monkey:

I am binge watching Star Wars at the moment lol!

:clap:t4::clap:t4::clap:t4::clap:t4::clap:t4:

That would be awesome, although I’m worried that all those years of watching American programs and movies has given me a romanticised idea of what road trips are like lol…

That sounds like a beautiful memory, thanks for sharing!

P.S. mahoosive shout out to the hawaiian pizza lovers!!! :see_no_evil_monkey::rofl::ok_hand:t4:

P.P.S. I bet if I blindfolded all the hawaiian pizza haters and fed it to them, they’d love it! ~takes cover~

The movie road trips are sometimes all Hollywood. The distances here are normal for us but crazy long for many. We live in the center so we sometimes get into thousand or two thousand mile trips. Those get everyone on edge. It’s a test of friendship (or love) to be packed together for days.

Oh trust me, this is my particular fantasy - the hubby’s main concern with road tripping in a camper is dealing with cleaning out the toilet.

Nevah!!!

Oh, do you mean Robin Williams’ Road Trip? Mountains aren’t tipping points, making a see saw out of your trailer. Or do you mean National Lampoon’s trying to clean out a stuffed sewer? After a bit, you want to throw in an M80! Oh, and don’t blow in the snake pipe: it will backwash into your mouth! Or maybe you prefer Lucille Ball’s Long, Long Trailer- trying to cook in a moving trailer? It’s now against the law to ride in a moving trailer because stuff really can fall out and hurt you. Mom simply insisted we had to stop at every brown sign we passed. It was quite a learning experience! Brown signs announce museums, caves, national monuments, historical sites, nature centers, and the like. Reading the historical signs and the map were how I learned to read all those years ago.

Splat!

Honestly, I might eat it if I had to choose between Hawaiian and bell peppers, but I might pick off the pineapple until it cools.

Otherwise, can we use a clothes pin on the nose under the blindfold?

Mom’s youth was spent picking a direction, packing a picnic, and traveling 100-300 miles. They’d stop right at the planned mile marker, even if there was nothing there, eat, and head back. No biggie. That was during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl era, back when presents were small enough to fit on the tree, not under it.

Yeah, I thought little of hopping on a Greyhound Bus for a 2-3 day trip 1500 miles each way to see my mother before Covid. It’s out of the question, now, but still only $300 round trip, plus room and board. The only reason I wouldn’t do it is finding transportation once I arrive in Indiana. I’m not a spring chicken anymore!
