Same here. I’ve got two close RL friends and that’s it.
Yeah…I understand. It should be on the free channels again. I hate to rent or buy but I have made exceptions for some of my more esoteric tastes (“He Never Died”, “Nobody”, “Casa de mi Padre” (Latin American Spanish and hilarious - a send up of movie tropes)).
My SO does that. It tastes great. She also freezes about any flavored drink except coffee and tea. I think it stems from freezing kool-aid into ice cubes as a kid (even big kids). We used to love that.
I sometimes make sherbet in the freezer, it takes some work but it’s really good You can do it with any drink, even carbonated ones. Just set a timer and stir every half an hour. It’s best made in a small mixing bowl or something like that that can take the temperature.
I remember sucking all the color and flavor out of a cube of Kool Aid. All I was left with was a white cube of very dry ice! (Not real dry ice: that is nitrogen rather than water, but y’all know what I mean?)
@Jeannie1 sherbet sounds good!
• If you could be the lead or supporting character in any movie, who would it be and why?
Catwoman. Because it would be a blast to wear the costume and wreak havoc on all enemies of cats.
• What’s your favourite snack at the moment?
Multi-grain Cheerios- plain, right out of the box. I’m a nibbler, so it’s perfect without too many junk calories. Or so I tell myself.
• If you could go back to a famous point in history, when would you go to and why?
This is a tough one. There are so many eras in human history that seem fascinating, but also so fraught they were likely not much fun to live through. I’d pick the Renaissance period - the rise of intellectual thought, art, literature, science - where it was actually cool to be smart. (waves at da Vinci)
• Tea, coffee or neither?
I like both coffee and tea, but only chamomile tea, with a bit of honey. Very relaxing in the evenings.
• What’s your least favourite food?
Animal liver, any kind. Don’t talk to me about iron benefits or adding bacon and onions for flavor. It’s kinda repulsive to me. Cause…liver.
• Tell us about something you do in your magickal practices that you just started doing because it felt right to you?
I’m a complete beginner and have literally only done two spells - both for animals. Each time it felt right to have wisps of hair and lit candles. (This may be considered routine practice - I wouldn’t know.)
Now we’re talking!
Ooh, I’d love to meet da Vinci! That would be good!
Same here! Liver, ew!
Hey @Feathertip just popping in to say that if it feels right for you, then make it part of your routine practice
x Blessed Be x
Oh, thank you for saying that.
I’m still very much at the awkward newbie stage, where I feel lucky just not to have knocked over a candle or lit my alter on fire.
I am not far past that. When I do a new working, I often have to go back and redo it. Then redo it again. Repeat. As it becomes familiar, I start to link with it and then it feels natural.
For cases where you are pushing for better health/lessened anxiety/good fortune towards someone or something, your idea of including an item from your target (hair is common since it is easy, saliva, nail clippings, etc) is normal. A picture or, if human, something that the person wrote, has a few collective names but the essence is that it makes your connection stronger. Keep practicing what you are good at and expand as you feel more comfortable. While we want our wishes to have an effect on the person or thing, the reality is that it has an identifiable and immediate effect on us. Our lives are better because we sincerely and unselfishly wish something or someone to be better. Enjoy your path!
@dan3 - I really appreciate your expanded reply. Every little bit helps! Thank you!
Blessed be.
This feeling won’t last very long, and I prefer the phrase “I’m at the beginning of my magickal journey”; I feel like ‘newbie’ takes away the power that one has, even though it’s daunting and awkward and strange but in a good way, you have decided to take control of your abilities and steer your ship in the direction you want to go - that’s an exciting adventure!
I think to get the most out of the journey, one needs to feel their way through it. When you see someone’s post about a new technique that went really well for them, take note of your feelings and follow your intuition: if it feels like it could be the right path then follow it, if it doesn’t feel like the right path then trust that and either find another way that feels right or choose another path. When something feels right to you and aligns with your intentions, it will make your magick so much stronger
We all have a million questions from the day we start, and the list always increases as you discover more so do feel free to ask the lovely coven for our experiences. Then decide what works for you!

@Nikki-Phoenix - You are very wise. Thank you for pointing out my self-deprecating words! I don’t usually engage in that because you are SO right, that it depletes one’s own power.
Thank you for your kind words and wise counsel!
Blessed be.
Some people feel the word “routine” evokes feelings of comfort and empowerment. Others consider it a potential rut. How do you feel?
As for practice, having tools is good as a focal point for as long as you need them. Evetually, you will be able to connect without all the stuff, but you may still enjoy the sensations they remind you of. Either way, the power and focus are within you. Build your confidence and let your energies fly with intent, emotion, and focused control. You’re doing well.
Interesting…I see how it could go both ways. Right now, it’s too soon for me to feel anything but the excitement of just developing a routine, which would be comforting and positive.
I guess we all need to be aware of any routine that might be so comforting that it could cause us to stagnate into a rut. But the same could be true for many routines we develop in our lives. hmm…
Great food for thought, Georgia. Thank you!
Like my grandfather used to say, “Have fork, will travel!”
Perfect!
Very kind of you to say so
You’re welcome but I must apologise, that came out wrong - it sounds like you invented the word and of course you didn’t! Many people use it, and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the language I use and it’s effects, so I’m sorry that all spilled out on you! I am excited to see where your adventure takes you!

Thank you - no need to apologize since I think we’re both saying the same thing!
I truly appreciate - and welcome - all of your thoughts and comments.
