đŸ‘» Ghost Pipes ~ A Phantom-Like Pain Killer

I did responsibly forage a small amount since there weren’t as many plants as I’ve seen in the past. I am making a tincture from what I foraged that will sit for the next 4-6 weeks. In the meantime, I’ll research the heck out of how toxic/safe it is before trying it for my arthritis and chronic pain.

I guess I hadn’t thought that they might not be  I think the ones I’ve seen here and in Minnesota were in woods. But I’m sure there are some in parks and campuses  nking

The one by me here in Minnesota is in the woods. But there is one across the street from my parents that is in a park. I don’t play disc golf, but I do love walking the course and through the woods there. My 9 year old grandson loves to go with me because it’s filled with PokĂ©mon.:rofl::rofl:

Jackpot!

Congrats on the find, Artemisia - that’s so cool that you were able to spot some! :ghost: :two_hearts:

You’re very wise to do so! :+1:

Good luck with the tincture - the herbalist said it turns a beautiful purple color. Whether you choose to experiment with it or not, you’ll have something pretty on display! :purple_potion: :sparkles:

I noticed it turning darker right away but thought it was more blue, but you’re right! It is purple :purple_heart:

Oh, thanks for the reminder! I bet they’ve distilled long enough to try them now.

I’ll take a peek at them tomorrow morning and see about decanting them!!

My update - I’ve used my tincture a couple of times. One, it’s strong and 5 drops were more than enough to affect me. Two, it’s less of a “pain relief” and more of an “I don’t care anymore that I hurt” which makes it less useful to me as it would mean I shouldn’t drive, work, or do anything complicated or potentially hazardous, like cooking. Basically, I would only use it before sleep. It did lose its beautiful purple-blue color and is now a murky brown. It’s interesting for certain.

Sounds good and bad :flushed: might be good for insomnia?

It didn’t make me sleepy just
disconnected. This part of the description of its use fits better with what I experienced. Physical pain was still there but mental clarity and worry weren’t there :woman_shrugging:t3: but things work differently for different people.

Mmm  may try it, on my day off incase it all goes wrong

Interesting - it sounds like it worked more like an apathy potion than a pain relief tincture. And that’s an important note about not using it before any activities that would require focus and care.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, @Artemisia!

It’s that time of year again! :ghost:

I found a huge patch of them 1/4 mile from my house. I don’t think I’ve seen them here before or maybe I just missed them.

I only harvested at most 2 stalks from each bunch; thankfully, there were many different bunches in this location.

Currently they are in 100 proof alcohol in the pantry to make a tincture.
