My name is Scott. I’m 61, and new to Wicca. I was born and raised Catholic, but felt that my spiritual life was incomplete, and my beliefs grew further apart from the Church. When I recently found Wicca, I felt reborn! Though my wife is still happily Catholic, she has become more accepting and supportive of my new religion. Blessed be!
Merry meet, @scott1 ! I am new to Wicca, too - brought up Mennonite but never fitting in. I feel like you do - Wicca is the perfect fit for what I’ve always believed. Welcome to the Infinite Roots coven!
Hi @scott1! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum!
I’m so glad you found your way to us and that you feel comfortable. That’s important! It’s great that your wife is supporting you as well. She seems like a keeper! LOL!
Have you found the Courses here yet? They’re a great way to learn more about the path that you’re on and where you want to research next.
If you have any questions, just ask and someone will pop up to help you. I look forward to chatting with you in the future!
Scott,
Hello Scott is such a pleasure to meet you oh I am so excited to get to know you and help you on your spiritual path with any questions or anything like that!Actually I am from California
When I was a child my grandparents were Catholic in Rancho Murieta a really nice area I grew up inn!
I was born and raised Catholic, but felt that my spiritual life was incomplete, and my beliefs grew further apart from the Church.
I only shined religion away, when I look back I rarely wanted church as a child and adult. I had a really hard time with religion and conforming. Once this guy was try to spiritual program me!
To make my mother happy and I really tried to be a better person and so later on in life I did end up going to church however it didn’t last long.
When I recently found Wicca, I felt reborn!
Wicca helps me find my truth and be me. I know I am not being spiritually programmed neither. I rather have the dark and the light to have both darkness and light so I don’t just have one and not just the other artificial light .
When the Christian’s said I was saved. Huh nothing saved me and my destiny. And that’s the truth! We can’t run from the dark we must get to know the shawdow.
I had a lot of artificial light and fake people know I can be really honest with myself and I like to share with everyone here because there really supportive.
Also I have learned many new ways to be grounded in my practice like doing yoga or meditation! I value my practice as a witch because it helps me to stay centered too! I hope you find the truth within you and stay grounded and centered and truthful!
Though my wife is still happily Catholic, she has become more accepting and supportive of my new religion. Blessed be!
Sounds like she’s supporting the craft cause she loves you a lot. My husband finally after 3 yrs did a ritual with me actually he has done ritual with me . For example he ingraved his name in the green candle for 11:11 and we tried a spell that infinite roots gave us! We wrote our dreams during the opening of that portal. So anyway it’s been nice to be able to support another person in the craft cause it helps me! Also Wicca is really exciting cause your adapting from that artificial light to nature and it’s such an exciting journey isn’t it
Jeannie
Welcome Scott1! My name is Tracy, but I prefer my Witch name, Medea. I am from Upstate New York (Rochester) As you know, it is very cold today. Anyway, you have joined an awesome group. I am fairly new here and it was the best decision I have made. I had a terrible thing happen to me and it completely put me in a bad place in my head. I could not eat, sleep, then finally I could not get out of bed. Then I changed paths and joined here. I could learn about me, an Eclectic Witch. I could learn spells and that was better than going to prison. So, I got out of bed and joined here at Spells 8.
Everyone is so helpful and accommodating. If you have a question, ASK. Someone will help you. Again, Welcome,
Medea
Hello and welcome home @scott1
I’m Marsha, an eclectic solitary witch from Colorado. It’s nice to meet you, Scott. What a blessing to have your wife supporting you on your new path.
I was raised Methodist and even as a teenager I had many doubts. I was later indoctrinated by the Jehovah’s Witnesses and I became very discouraged when they couldn’t answer my questions. So now here I am a witch
and I’m so much happier
I agree with our lovely @Amethyst, the courses are a great place to start. There are lots of friendly and helpful people here so if you have any questions, just ask! Q&A
I’m looking forward to getting to know you better. Welcome to the family, and make yourself at home.
With love and magick
always
Thank you Marsha! It’s very nice to meet you too!
Merry meet Jeannie! Thank you so much for your kind words! I look forward to talking with you again. It’s true that without my wife’s support and understanding, my new journey would be significantly more challenging. A loving partner makes life more fulfilling.
Thank you Medea and merry meet! May the Goddess bless you on your spiritual journey!
Thank you Amethyst, it’s great to meet you! Yes, I have started on the coursework. It’s been both fun and fulfilling. Yes, my wife is indeed a keeper! We’ve been together for 28 years and she has been my rock when times are challenging.

Welcome to Infinite roots coven.
This is my 7 part beginner plan (There’s so much more, but this is a good start.)
1 st the search is where you can find almost anything you’re looking for.
2 nd Don’t shy away from Q&A section, it often answers questions before you think of them.
3 rd Start your courses, they are very instructive and often entertaining. You can have video lessons as well as written.
4 th At the top of this page there are 5 boxes, each is informative and helpful.
5 th O.K. RELAX! It may seem overwhelming, and it can be, but one of the lessons you’ll learn is meditation…oh so helpful!
6 th Please visit us on FORUM, we not only love questions, but to get to know each other, well, with kindness and respect.
7 th Here’s the fun part, sit back, get a cup of something warm to drink. Put your feet up and join us in learning the practice of Magick. Plus you can make some amazing friends.
Thanks for joining us.
Blessed be
Garnet
