Grow Light Information

Has anyone used the lightbulb grow lights for plants? My house is dark (work nights), but I want to bring my plants inside for the winter and I’m not sure if the grow lights will work for them.

I have used grow lights before. They works great if used properly. You need to use them as the sun. Turn them on for 8 - 10 hours and then off during the night. Or if you prefer to have them on while your working and off when your sleeping that would work also. You can set them on a timer to automatically turn off and on at certain times of the day.

My neighbor uses grow lights. He has east facing windows, so he gets the morning sun and supplements the sunlight with the grow lights on a timer. His apartment is a jungle! They do work well.

My issue is the cost. His electric bill is about $100 more than mine. I suppose it would work better for me if the plants I grow are food- rob Peter to pay Paul type thing.

Best of luck!

These work great I have two. Got em a couple years ago. And my plants seem to look greener under these lights than they do outside. I highly recommend these

They also do payments

I bought grow light light bulbs and put them in my lamps in the living room. I will keep everyone informed on how well they work, and if my light bill goes insane. They look pretty cool, my living room is magenta.

One of my past apartments was really dark, so I got some of those LED grow light strips and turned a shelf into a mini plant house. The lights were enough to keep most of the plants alive, but I don’t think it would be right to say they were thriving.

Then again, if you just want to use the lights to keep them alive through the winter, it could be a good option to try! :potted_plant: :grinning:

Woohoo - I’m glad the lights are working for your plants! :grinning: Sounds like the Bird of Paradise evens prefers it to being outside. May they continue to be happy and well :potted_plant: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I use them alot

Get a ultra violet one full spectrum and set a timer for

12/12hrs or depending on the plants or 8/12

Light/darkness

The start after a week to give it different hours for light and dark this confuse my plants and they bloomed quickly
