Welcome @amanda0703! I’m Siofra_Strega one of the moderators in the forum from Cape Cod. I think the best place to start for a beginner would be the courses & go from there. You can always ask any questions you may have in the forum & someone will be along to get you pointed in the right direction.
I myself am not Wiccan, but this community is very open to all witches of any background or practice. I guess if I had to describe it… Eclectic Celtic Pagan 
Everything will fall into place & if you have any questions at all feel free to start a new topic in #questions, everyone here is very helpful & friendly. Always willing to help out each other.

Hi @amanda0703! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum! 
The best thing I can tell any newbie is to research, don’t buy stuff unless it’s books. You’ll want to buy a hundred crystals, tarot decks and wands, and the like but until you know what you’ll need you’re just throwing your money away.
Here are a couple of videos, one by the lovely @MeganB here on the forum, that will give you some good advice on starting out.
If you have any questions or anything, just ask and someone will pop up and help you out. I look forward to getting to know you!

You’re in good company – there are plenty of brand new witches here! As @Susurrus mentioned, the courses are a great place to start. I’d also ask yourself what you’re interested in. Doing that can help point you in the right direction.

Don’t mind if I hop on the welcome wagon too- it is a pleasure to meet you, Amanda! I hope you are making yourself at home here 
I can see others have shared some great resources for getting started. I know there is a lot of information out there and it can be a bit overwhelming at first, so I would recommend beginning in any area(s) that are most appealing to you. Are there any particular areas of magick you are interested in/want to learn about (maybe tarot, herbalism, astrology, numerology, etc.)?
For a general guide to getting started, I also recommend the Spellcasting 101 Guide- it can help you build confidence as you cast your first spells

I am Marsha, an eclectic witch from Colorado. It’s nice to meet you, Amanda. I’m also a solitary practitioner, I think this works well for me because I’m an introvert and empath. What are your interests? There’s a lot of information here, so I always recommend starting with the courses as @Susurrus suggested. There are lots of friendly and helpful people here, so if you have any questions, just ask. Welcome to the family, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you better.
