Hello, I’ve just joined. New to the craft but from a family of witches, mother’s side. Been in denial for years but finally embracing it. Just saying good evening from West country England here and wishing all a blessed day/night wherever you are.
Hello @tracyS and welcome to the forum. I’m glad you are finally embracing the craft. I myself stopped for a bit and found my way back.
Thankyou for your welcome, it’s daunting but truly wonderful too. Nice to know that we can always return.
Merry meet and welcome home
@tracyS
It’s nice to meet you, Tracy, I’m Marsha, an Eclectic Solitary Witch, from Colorado. I don’t know if I have a history of witches in my family, but I have always felt like I have ever since I was a child. I have been in the closet for most of my life, and I’ve finally opened the door!
I lived in Ireland for a few years, my husband is Irish, and my great-grandfather is from N. Ireland. We went to as many historical sites, standing stones, and stone circles as we could find. We lived close to a green area, and I loved going for walks there. One day I found a small stone circle in a field, it was so magical there. So I too, am walking a Celtic Path.
There is a lot of great information here, so if you need any guidance, or have any questions, let us know. We are here for you, Tracy, welcome to the family
With love and magick
always
Oh thankyou. Sounds like you had a beautiful experience in Ireland. So much Magick here, and everywhere, been blind to it for so long. Looking forward to my journey ahead.
Hi, @tracyS! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia over here in the States. Welcome to the forum!
It’s great to have you here! I think a lot of us have phases where we don’t practice for one reason or another but all are welcome back! That’s the beauty of it.
Have you found the Courses yet? They’re a great way to start here on the forum even if you know that information already. A lot of times there are printables you can use for your BOS. That’s aways fun.
If you have any questions, just ask and someone will be there to help. I look forward to getting to know you!
Hi, thankyou. Yes I’ve started looking at the Wicca one. So much on here. Fabulous. So nice to be a part of it. Blessings

Thankyou, I’m sure I’ll be needing plenty of guidence on this fabulous journey. Many blessings
Hi Megan, thankyou for your welcome. I was previously in the church for many years, but never fitted in. Was drawn to everything magic but with the church’s teachings it made me feel like I shouldnt follow my natural path. My mother’s so intuitive and kept saying be yourself, finally I’ve embraced it. It’s been like a huge weight has lifted off me and so freeing. Some communities still frown on us so I’m not fully out the closet yet, despite my mother being sooo happy. Looking forward to the freedom to finally be me and follow my roots. Blessings
I fully relate to this. I was in and out of church for much of my childhood, even after I found Wicca. I knew that a more natural path was where I should go, but the teachings of the church and the community it provided me made me conflicted. Eventually, I found my way and here I am now!
It doesn’t matter how long it takes to get here. It matters that you’re here now
Thankyou, saying that means alot
Of course! It’s important for you to know that you’re not alone and you’re not the only person that has experienced the conflict the church can bring. I know not all churches are like this, and many churches are welcoming of people of all beliefs, but it’s important to acknowledge the harm that the church as an institution can do.
You’re here now – that’s important
Hi again! I’m just chiming in to say that I had a lot of trouble with the church & even the Sunday school things. I didn’t like it & couldn’t wrap my head around some things, it didn’t make me feel good at all. Eventually my parents decided it wasn’t worth it to try & get me to go to church regularly. That was a whole thing in my very Roman/Irish Catholic home.
I was back & forth then kind of nowhere then came back to what to felt right & I have loved it ever since! Feels much better than when I was going to church.
I’m happy that you made it here! I want to second what @MeganB said that you are not alone with these feelings & types of experiences. We are happy to have you here & if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
Welcome to the forum! I come from a maternal line of witches too (that I just found out about in the last year). I have been having a blast learning who I really am! I’m excited for the start of your journey!
