Hocus Pocus Book Brownies

Hocus Pocus Book Brownies

Time: 1 hour hr prep
Servings: 9 brownies

Ingreditnes:

9 prepared brownies, from a box mix, store-bought, or homemade
black decorating icing
9 large candy eyes

Directions:

If you’re baking, make the brownies according to the package or your chosen recipe. Once done, allow them to fully cool. To make the decorating step smoother, chilling the brownies in the fridge can help them firm up. When they’re set, go ahead and cut them into book shapes.

Transfer the black icing to a pastry bag with a small round tip. If you don’t have one, a one with a tiny corner snipped off works too. Test out the icing flow to ensure it’s narrow and consistent, and adjust if needed.

Time to decorate! Place a sizeable dot of icing near the center-right of the brownie, then press a candy eye into it. This will create a defined rim around the eye.

Next, draw a squiggly line for the book’s spine, some half-circles at the top and bottom right, and a couple of dots representing blemishes. If there’s space left, consider adding a few stitch-like lines.

Let the icing set for about 30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
