**What Are Kau Cim (Oracle Sticks) & How Do I Use Them? 🎋✨**

A few of you asked about the **Kau Cim (Chi Chi) sticks** I mentioned in my intro, so I wanted to share a quick explanation of what they are and how I incorporate them into my daily practice!

I’ve been using them for a few years alongside my morning and nightly Tarot pulls. Whenever I need clarity on a decision, feel worried, or just want to see what energies are around, I turn to them. You simply ground yourself, breathe deep, shake the cylinder, and let Spirit / the Universe guide the right stick out.

Here is a quick breakdown of the tradition and how it works:

───

**What is Kau Cim (求籤)? 📜**
**• Ancient Divination:** Originating in ancient China (often used in Taoist, Buddhist, and folk traditions), Kau Cim is one of the oldest forms of fortune-telling and guidance.
**• The Tools:** A set contains numbered bamboo sticks housed inside a special cylinder. Each number corresponds to a specific poem, oracle verse, or historical story that holds a piece of wisdom or answer to your question.

───

**How to Use Them Step-by-Step 🎋🧘‍♂️**

**1. Center & Ground:** Hold the cylinder in both hands. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and clear your mind.
**2. Focus Your Intent:** Focus on a specific question, a worry you want clarity on, or simply ask for guidance for your day/path ahead.
**3. Shake the Cylinder:** Gently tilt the cup and shake it in a rhythmic, upward motion. You don’t force a stick out—as you shake, the kinetic movement causes the sticks to rise.
**4. The Falling Stick:** Eventually, one single stick will rise higher than the rest and fall out onto the table or floor. _(If multiple sticks fall at once, put them back, recenter, and shake again)._
**5. Read the Verse:** Look at the number carved or painted on the fallen stick. Look up the corresponding verse/poem in your Kau Cim oracle book.
**6. Reflect:** Meditate on the story, poem, and advice given, just like reading a Tarot card!

───

It’s a beautiful, tactile, and peaceful divination tool that really connects you to the flow of the universe. If you love Tarot, Runes, or I Ching, it’s an amazing practice to explore!

Blessed Be & happy divining! 🙌🎋🔮✨☯

Thank you for sharing this and your explanation of how to use them and the ancient history. As a Hedge Witch my practice is aligned to the old ways and forkore, nature as well as the spirt world. I love the feel of wood. I also read Tasseography which ias you will know is also linked to ancient tea rituals in China. This divination will fit perfectly with my practice.

I have found a set 😀 so I will get buy them and start to learn. Thank you 🌔🔯💚

**Daily Divination: Stick Pull & Tarot Reflection 🪶🎋✨**

Merry Meet everyone!

I wanted to share my full morning divination spread along with the deeper wisdom that came through it. Divination is such a grounding anchor in my daily routine, and the sheer consistency across these three draws today really resonated with where things stand.

* * *

### **1. The Kau Cim Draw 🎋**

- **Stick** #4: 蒙 (_Méng_) — Enveloping / Youthful Inexperience
- **I Ching Hexagram 4:** Mountain over Water (_山水蒙_)

**The Essence & Imagery 🏔🌊** Hexagram 4 paints the picture of a fresh spring bubbling at the foot of a tall mountain, surrounded by thick morning mist and fog. It speaks directly to navigating through a haze of confusion or obscured clarity, warning of the danger in acting prematurely while the water is still murky.

**The Structure & Lesson 🧘‍♂️** \* **Above:** _Gen_ (Mountain) — Stillness, stopping, solid ground.

- **Below:** _Kan_ (Water / The Abyss) — Depth, danger, turbulence.

When facing emotional turbulence or an unseen path, the correct action is **stillness** , not a forced push forward. It reminds us to wait for the fog to lift and the water to clear before making major moves.

* * *

### **2. Tarot del Toro: Seven of Cups (VII de Copas) 🏆🌫**

- **Core Meaning:** Illusion, sensory overload, mental chatter, and the paralysis of having too many conflicting emotions swirling at once.
- **The Connection:** This card directly mirrors the “mountain shrouded in fog” from Stick #4. When the mental cup is overflowing with exhaustion and emotional tension, it becomes impossible to separate grounded reality from what is amplified by burnout.

* * *

### **3. Luna Soleil Tarot: XVIII — The Moon 🌕🐺**

- **Core Meaning:** Walking in the dark, heightened anxiety, subconscious currents, and things being distorted under dim light.
- **The Connection:** When walking by moonlight, shadows stretch and harmless shapes look threatening. It cautions against making drastic declarations or forcing “the truth” while everyone’s vision is clouded by emotional distortion.

* * *

### **The Unified Morning Message 🕯☯**

The synergy across all three pulls is striking:

1. **Stick** #4 **(山水蒙):** Mist over the mountain spring — choose stillness over rash action.
2. **Seven of Cups:** Emotional overwhelm & illusion — avoid reacting to mental chatter.
3. **The Moon:** Hidden undercurrents & night shadows — trust inner grounding over external conflict.

**Core Takeaway:** Hold the line with quiet boundaries. Rather than stepping into exhausting battles while everyone is navigating the fog, the path to peace is stillness, conserving energy, and letting the sediment settle naturally on its own.

Curious if anyone else works with the _I Ching_, Kau Cim sticks, or has pulled a similar message of stillness and clearing the fog today!

Blessed Be! 🎋🃏🌕🏔🌊 I feel the cards in my soul. I turn to my instincts Do my reading, then I turn the AI to let AI generate the actual meaning of the stick, and then I put it into my life, same with the cards. It It is a beautiful tradition ✨ and it gives me much guidance 🤔 when I’m not sure which way to turn sometimes with the cards 🃏.
