If you’re anything like me, the sight of the first autumn-colored leaf gets you excited! Even though it’s still hot and summery outside, it’s time to bring out the cozy blankets, check your tea supply, and perhaps even bake the first apple pie of the season. (I know, I did! )
Cozy times are calling for witchy movies (I know, I know, Practical Magic 2 is coming to our theatres, very soon) and witchy music, right? I mean after a long day of studying complicated magickal rituals and stirring the cauldron a witch needs to relax!
So, please, let´s use this thread to throw together witchy movies, TV shows and music…whatever comes into your mind!

Oh! I love topics like this! I don’t really have a favorite witchy movie, which is weird. But Something Wicked This Way Comes is one of my favorite Fall movies, full stop.
The first two I have re-watched recently was The Craft (1996) and The Craft Legacy (2026). The Good Witch (Catherine Bell). Bewitched, Practical Magic Part 1. Sky Original A Discovery of Witches and also Mayfair Witches.
I enjoyed watching Witch’s Brew with Terry Gar, today.
Cat Creature with a very young Meredith Baxter was a bit intense for me, though. Egyptian horror.
Boris Karloff’s Terror was fairly good. Jack Nicholson was pretty good looking in his youth. Who was the real witch- the villager, the bird woman, or the dead lover?
@katharina , The first movie that comes to mind is Practical Magic 2 it is coming out to the cinemas in Melbourne next month I think ? I will probably go and see it with my Granddaughter and Niece.
Sometimes I´m so hesitant watching a sequel because I´m doubting it will be any good. So…is it worthwile watching this movie?

Yes, it iiiiiisssss!! I´m sooo excited!! It comes to cinemas here on September 10th and some cinemas made a special Ladies Night offer, where you get a small bottle of champaigne with your ticket. So funny. I don´t drink alcohol but I think it´s a cute idea.
One of my favorite TV shows is Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
and I´m rewatching it every year beginning October.
“The last witch hunter” is also a favorite movie that I will rewatch every now and then.

Book: “Circe,” by Madeline Miller - about the witch Circe from The Odyssey. She’s banished to an island where she develops her magickal powers. Her closest companion is her lioness. Highly recommend.
A song: “Do You Believe in Magic” by The Lovin’ Spoonful. An upbeat sweetie of a song.
It’s like, back in the old days, an evil carnival comes to a small town in the Midwest, and two friends find themselves being chased by the owner. Will’s Dad helps to keep them safe. It’s a Disney movie, of all things, and just started streaming again last year, but it’s such a wonderful film! Very scary in a way. But okay for tweens to watch at the same time. Just not on a stormy night. Or if they really hate spiders.

This so appropriately placed. Last night I was really feeling fall waiting on the cusp. I didnt select a cozy movie but one that seems to build on this growing energy into the season. I decided to watch The VVitch with my husband. Its one where the moodiness of the film just feels powerful. After the movie was done my husband instantly turned and asked if I wanted to watch You Are Never Alone the next night. I had to smile that even my non-practicing husband can feel the pressure of these seasonal shifts.
Ooh such a perfect topic to get us all into the spirit of Witchy season. I love soo many Witch movies and music ( no matter how cheesy )and a lot of them have already been mentioned. I really like the old old movie Bell Book and Candle ( 1958 ) with Kim Novak. My favorite Witchy song is, of course, Witchy Woman by the Eagles. ☆

Lol thank you he is a gem. I really enjoyed this movie for its darker energy. To be fair its not for everyone. Its definitely a horror/suspense movie about New England colonists and their interpretation of witches then being aligned with the devil. Its definitely a 4.5/5 star movie for me. If you watched the TV show Salem it gives similar vibes. Again not a cozy movie but i love the moody atmospheric vibe of fall. (Hoa Hoa season and all)
I’m a little confused. I got a hold of a movie called The Witch on YouTube, but when I started watching it, the credits announced it was actually called Appearance. Something entirely different. It was about a moral inquisitor (oxymoron?) who was bewitched to fall for one accused of being a witch when a monk was killed and marked with symbols.
