Warm greetings and a very Merry Meet Monday to all!
Upcoming Events
~New Celtic Tree Month~
On Wednesday, September 30th we leave behind the Celtic Vine Month and enter the next period in the Celtic Tree Calendar- The Ivy Month
Learn Religions lists the Ivy Month as a time of reflection, as ivy often lives on after it’s host plant has died or passed for the season. Ivy is a reminder that the wheel of the seasons continues and life goes on even in the darker months of the year. You can read more about the Ivy Month and types of magick potent during this time of year on Learn Religions: The 13 Celtic Tree Months
~Moon Phase: Full Moon~
This Thursday, October 1st we will be blessed with the light of the Full Harvest Moon!
For the exact time of the full moon in your location, you can use the Moon Phase Calendar in the Old Farmer’s Almanac.

The harvest moon commonly falls in September but is actually the name given to the first full moon after the Autumn Equinox/Mabon. Because of this, the October Full Moon (usually called the Blood Moon ) takes on the name Harvest Moon
October is an extra special month this year, as it has not one- but two full moons. The second full moon within one month is given the name Blue Moon, and only happens once every few years. To top it off, the next Blue Full Moon will happen this Halloween!
Full moons are a time of powerful cosmic energy and are the most popular moon phase for witches of all traditions to draw upon. The Magic in the Moon page notes that the full moon marks a period of fulfillment. Now is a great time to do ritual baths, charge your crystals and tools, and do spellwork!
You can learn more in the Moon Magick: Full Moon Magick guide. For spells, rituals, and information specifically for this week’s full moon, visit the Harvest Full Moon Ritual & Spell page:
~Festival of Bacchus~
On Saturday, October 3rd some traditions celebrate the wild and party-loving Roman deity Bacchus. Known in Greek traditions as Dionysus, this diety was a popular symbol of grapes and wine-making as well the harvest and fertility
Celebrations for this much-loved god usually involve wine, feasting, and fun revelry
You can learn more about Bacchus/Dionysus on his dedicated page on Learn Regions, Wikipedia, or in this fun video by Scarlet Ravenswood on YouTube:
