Thank you @tracyS and @Amethyst. We have lights! Thank the gods again! My daughter not only lost that oak tree, but her siding was torn off her house. Here’s a pic of my tree. That poor old girl has had a rough life.

Oh wow @Ostara – I’m so glad you weren’t without power for too long! I remember that feeling when Hurricane Ian went through Florida, and the hurricane before that one! We didn’t lose power too long, but a few hours is long enough in Florida summer to do some damage.

I hope your tree is okay! It looks like she can come back from that and it isn’t too damaging

I’m glad you have power back. Nothing worse than being in the South with no power! I hope a tree doctor can help save what’s salvageable of your tree. If not maybe you can get the wood and use it to make something memorable?

When we had the tree people here a few years ago (remember they cut my pine tree down) one of the workers told my husband the tree was dyeing from the inside out. He told him this is my favorite tree, my second favorite was the pine tree they cut down. A tree doctor can’t save the tree, but hopefully I have a few more years with her. We lost 3 oaks last summer with the drought and they are still standing. Hubby would have liked a little help from the universe taking those down, but they are standing tall.
