Might have found my deity?

good morning or afternoon depending on where you are!!

For the New Moon last night I decided to have a cleansing bath and reach out to the Mother Goddess Danu, I have been thinking on who to try and reach out to on my journey and after researching I did a ritual and invited her in last night. I’m still new with deities in my practice as i’ve only reached out 3 times (to other deities this was my first time reaching out to Danu)and this time felt different. Not in a super major way but more so in a i’m not alone, someone else was with me way. I know when asked most people say when you know you know … but what about when it feels like there’s something there but you’re not sure if you’re reading too much into it? :face_with_peeking_eye: I spent a good 30 minutes just relaxing and visualizing to the best of my ability and just talking/feeling. I had offerings and used some of the articles I read on spells 8 as well as other physical books before hand. I’m just not sure if I should try again or not.

Blessed be X

My one piece of advice is this – ask yourself if there’s any harm in moving forward with the belief that you’re correct. If there isn’t, and your intuition is telling you that something was there, then move forward. If there would be harm, then it’s likely not something worth considering and potentially not a deity connection.

This kind of thing takes practice, for sure. You’ll eventually get confirmation one way or the other, and when that happens you’ll have your final answer. There’s also no harm in choosing to honor a deity even if you don’t feel a personal connection. Danu is seen as the physical embodiment of the isle of Ireland. Some believe she’s an egregore created after the original Tuatha, and some believe she is an original Goddess. I don’t have a belief either way and I’ve never worked with Danu, but I say keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll eventually have a definitive answer.

Also, just as an aside for the more scholarly sources related to Danu, Morgan Daimler is a trusted source for Irish mythological and folkloric information. She has a video about Danu that you might find helpful.

Very cool. I have been trying to find “my Diety” but i realize I have so many that come to me at different times. I’ve just started a dialog with them while they’re there and figured i will have that space when i need it to be there again. But the experience is wonderful and I’m glad you got to have that as well. It’s so beautiful and the energy after ooh i love that.

I’m with you on this one @MistyW. I have been practicing for over 3 years and have worked with quite a few. Some dark, some light but they all helped me with what I needed when I needed them.

@madi, I’m wishing you well on your journey, and it sounds like at this time in your life Danu is with you. Sometimes the gods and goddesses pick us instead of the other way around.
