I have learned mostly by trial and error, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. I grew up in the mountains of Colorado and I am a nature lover too, I love trees, animals, and mother earth… and everything you mentioned! 
I am an empath too which is a struggle but thankfully I had nature all around me growing up! Being in nature restores my soul and my sanity.
