I didn’t know you were 1000 years old! Maybe we could date, now I know you’re closer to my age. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wow! Very interesting! I’m wondering tho, since it was only 7 inches deep is it possible it was someone’s collection and they stashed it? I would think if it was artifacts it would be much deeper than that. Not saying they aren’t true artifacts by any means. I’m just curious if it was someone’s collection of artifacts. :woman_shrugging:t2::woman_shrugging:t2::woman_shrugging:t2:

That’s super fun! I was purusing my 23 and me data recently and saw that now they are tracking ancestral DNA. I have a lot of trace viking in my make up! The neat thing is they actually give you the name of the site and the skeleton that you are matched with. It’s fascinating to me!

Guess I need to brush up a little bit on my Norse knowledge!

I had the same thought, especially from the picture that’s included in the article Jeannie shared. I followed the links and found the original post  here’s what that one says and the true picture.

About 20 centimeters into the ground were four heavy silver bracelets, all with different decorations. It was the field archaeologists Mari Krogstad Samuelsen and Ola Tengesdal Lygre who first discovered the treasure from the Viking Age.

It’s always good to ask questions?
Mystique I forget what originally they’ve lost a city before so I know what you mean. Why does it take so long to find stashed articles because they’re buried deep?

The original article says it’s not necessarily from a Viking but it’s from the Viking Age. They do that by carbon dating and understanding the jewelry from that timeframe.

– At first I thought it was a question of some twisted copper wires that you can often find in agricultural land, but when I saw that there were several lying next to each other and that they were not copper at all, but silver, I realized that we had found something exciting, says Lygre.
