My present to Kasandra
< – silver egg
I present you an egg by the shining moon
You worked hard, ‘Its hatching soon.’
And you’ll be surprised
by your new prize, I promise.
When this egg rocks, then cracks
Then looks like it’s exploding
As a tiny creature raises its head
You see glowing blue eyes
A tiny long snout sniffs about
as if it is smelling for something.
Searching Franticly around the room
it will squawk as if it is distressed.
Wet wings flapping as it tries to stand
and maybe a puff of smoke
Then it spots you and you both lock eyes.
An impression has been made.
A life long friend and companion
you have gained this day.
