I just wanted to give a quick announcement that I will be very, very sparse in the forum over the next few days as my family and I prepare for Hurricane Idalia. We aren’t in the direct path, but if Hurricane Ian (from last year) taught us anything, it’s that things can always change at the last minute. They have already evacuated the first flood zone due to the potential storm surge, and we are preparing to potentially lose power for a day or so, maybe longer. I will keep everyone updated as much as possible!
If you’re in the path of the hurricane, please stay safe, prepare as best you can, and follow the direction of your local government!
Be safe! Take care of yourself & your family! Please let us know that you are all okay once it passes & you’re in my thoughts today & throught the duration
Stay safe Megan I sincerely hope this hurricane will pass soon and with no serious effects! Just hold on with this situation love, I know you’re a natural. I hope your preparation goes on perfectly. Wishing you lots of protective blessings and warm hugs!
Wishing you the safest week and days beyond. I hope it passes as nondestructively as possible and the worries soon become a thing of the past. Looking forward to hearing from you on the other side of this event.
Good morning, everyone! We managed to avoid most of the hurricane and are just getting the last of the outer bands. It’s raining pretty good here right now, and we are at least 20 miles inland, so we aren’t affected from the storm surge.
I believe Garnet is south of me and inland as well, so I’m hopeful she’s okay, too - @Garnet I hope you’re doing alright!
I’m keeping everyone in the path of Idalia in my thoughts because it’s pretty bad parts of the Tampa area are flooding closer to the water, and the levels are expected to rise. The Tampa area wasn’t hit directly and it’s still seeing major impacts.
I’ll be here throughout most of the day, as long as I still have power.
Yeah, it hit hard north of us. We are just getting the last of the wind and rain from the outer bands. There’s one model that shows Idalia going out into the Atlantic and then curving back to hit the East Coast and going back into the Gulf…so we’re still keeping an eye on things, just in case!
