Rune Protection Spell

The Runes are old, and many books have been written on them. However, they are not as complicated as the academics will have you believe.

The old Norse, the everyday man and woman, educated and uneducated accessed the power of the runes. They didn’t purchase fancy runes made out of crystal, nor did they have a set ( a set was usually owned by the seers) They would often make each rune, from the wood around them, as they needed it.

So here’s a simple, humble runic spell.

You’ll need:

A knife.
A piece of wood, any wood, a branch, a piece of bark. Preferably wood found on the ground.
(If this is not possible, bought wood will be fine, the gods are flexible ).
A bowl of Water (if you can do this by a river or the sea, fabulous).
Be outside.

With your knife, carve the rune :algiz: into the wood.
(you can trace a drop of your blood over the rune if you want, but it’s not necessary .)
Hold the rune in your hands, cusp your hands and say a prayer to Heimdall for protection for whatever it is you need protection for.
Now toss the rune into the river/sea or bowl of water.
Raise your hands, palms up to the sky, close your eyes and absorb the energy of the rune.
Gives thanks to Heimdall.
(If you’ve used the bowl of water, now toss the rune into your garden).

That’s it. :green_heart:

You can do this for any rune, just choose the rune that matches your need, find the god that will also match that need. And always thank the gods and the runes.

Simple. :drinking_horn: :algiz:

Love this! So simple. One question tho. Can this be done inside rather than outside? The temperatures high is only going to be 7 degrees Celsius today. And won’t be much higher for the next couple months.

Yes, it can be done anywhere, anytime, just adapt it to suit you. :green_heart:

The whole ritual can be done indoors, just toss the rune back to nature, even if it means placing the rune in a plant pot.
