I haven’t forgotten this post, but I’m currently doing a workshop on how the runes were used before they got swept up with new age revival, and divination meanings were put on them. It’s very interesting how they were used in magical workings, rituals, spells and to draw in, and remove energy. Each rune being used in a specific way. So once I’ve got my head around this, I feel this will add more into how we can feel each rune in our day to day.

Journey with a Rune
We all meditate, sometimes it’s a simple meditation, other times we enter incredible worlds. Have you ever meditated with rune energy and through that energy connected with a god/spirit that too works with that rune?
To do this, you’ll need:
A bag of runes
Somewhere in nature
Sit down. Shake your rune bag and ask for the gods/spirits to join you in this meditation. It can be as simple as saying: “To the gods of the old religion, I ask you please to join me.”
Now draw a rune from the bag, without looking at it and toss it gently into the air infront of you, and let it land.
Once it’s landed, ask the gods to send that rune energy back to you. Now pick up that rune and turn it over and over in your hand, look at it. The god/spirit of that rune has made a connection with you.
Now close your eyes, relax, and let your mind wander, let your imagination take over. Keep rubbing the rune, keeping the connection. Let the god/spirit take you on a journey.
When you want to end the meditation. Open your eyes. Focus on your rune in your hand, bring yourself back to your surroundings by feeling your weight sat on the ground. Thank whoever joined you and put your rune away.

They are easy to make. You can use popsicle sticks, bottle caps. leaves, stones or make them from polymer clay.
Plus I think several people on the forum have made their own and posted how they did it. (edit to add links to other posts in the forum)

Worst come to worst---- or rather easiest maybe, are those glass beads for filling vases at the dollar store and use a permanent marker to draw on the symbols.

@Satans_Helper Ok I was thinking on this with Odin and here’s what we’ve come up with.
Rune meditation without Runes
There is a way to see the runes, without having runes. You can either draw them on paper yourself or use this photo. (The runes are not in order, which doesn’t matter as they’re not in order in the bag )
So same as above ritual, only instead of the bag you now have a picture and bring a pen/charcoal. You’ll be using an old Nordic mystical method that I’ve posted further up the post.
Gaze at the picture of the runes till your vision blurs.
Lick the inside of both palms and place your hands infront of your face and stare into your hands, the rune that speaks to you, you will see it either in your hands or your minds eye.
Once you’ve seen the rune, draw it on your left palm, do the meditation whilst rubbing the rune on your palm with your other hand. (If using charcoal don’t worry if the rune smudges, the energy stays the same).
Hope this helps.
Side note: The licking of the palms is an old Norse method of connecting your energy with the gods energy you are calling in. It’s believed that by using spit and blood in rituals we are giving a part of our life essence to the gods that they can identify us uniquely and bond with us better.
