Self Love Sunday

Greetings Everyone,

I was thinking about Self Love…something I think we all should consider a lot more but seem to always put last on the list of things to do. I’m guilty of it myself, I put everyone and everything above my own self care. Now that my kids are older the “Mommy Demand” has decreased considerably but yet I still put off taking time for myself in the sense of nurturing/care/recharge.
So I thought dedicating a day to doing one act of Self Love for myself seemed like a good idea. It seemed to work when I first started out with Spells8, I assigned days of the week to work on certain things, for example Witchy Wednesday I would do lessons/read/research, Tarot Tuesday I’d do cleansing of my Tarot cards, pendulum, etc. or a reading/study my Runes/etc. But I’ve never just dedicated a time of any day to just take care of me., and I’m sure that is something we are all guilty of. So, this Sunday I invite you to do the same! Take one moment out of your Sunday for yourself. Do something to recharge, relax, connect, or that just makes you feel good/happy. One moment whatever that equals for you. It can be one hour, 5 minutes, or all day.
Because you are amazing, fearless and fierce, witchingly wonderful, and deserve to know this, to feel it, to embrace it!
Blessed Be :infinite_roots:

I never take time for me anymore. I don’t know the last time I even had a witchy shower. I’m slowly getting back.

The other day I wrote in my Book of Mirrors for the first time, really since at least August. I started looking up different things on my own & the past 2 days I have done tarot readings. I like the 3 card daily draws.

I’m getting my groove back. I had to wade through some things, but I’m catching my footing. I need to get back to a regular schedule also.

Thank you @Rowan this is a great idea! I know for a fact that I put myself last. Today, I will take a nice self care bath with rose petals, salts, and a nice rose quartz! I think we all need to do this and possibly more than once a week.

I feel like this should be a once a day thing at least

I took a bath last night and stayed in til I couldn’t handle the temperature anymore brrrrr. I used a mint lavender that I made for pain in my hips. It doesn’t smell good but it sure relieves the pain haha. And I get to freak out the house with the lavender flowers all over the tub, they look like a bunch of little bugs :joy:

This sounds amazing! I have a bad habit of feeling guilty for taking time for myself but everyone needs that time! Thanks for the idea!

You’re welcome, a lot of us feel that way…I think. I know I do sometimes.
But what I’m trying to learn, is if our own self love/care is always postponed eventually we will be the ones needing to be taken care of.

Thanks a lot for bringing that beautiful idea. We definitely all need that, and I agree with @Susurrus that this should be a daily thing. Thanks again!

Heh. I’ve been taking too much time for self-love. I’m late posting today because I’ve been reading a new author I found.

Sadly today was a wonderful we day. I tried to steal my bestie for adult time but the teen and tween decided to run out the door and lock themselves in the car.:sweat_smile: So, we bought a big piece of peg board and pushed it in over their heads, as well as pretending to take off when they started walking towards us . Lots of chores and working together today but lots of happiness and laughter as well.

It is when you forget to eat, you’re so busy reading and writing! LOL! Did that yesterday. Oops.

I really enjoyed myself. I took the time to fix my hair and makeup. (I rarely ever do this) I talked to my kids about self love and why it’s important and had them do something just for them, and when my husband got home from work he took some time for himself. I think it’s going to be a Sunday tradition in my house

Thank you @Rowan this is a wonderful idea. I usually never think of myself or about self-love, since I try to always please & put others before me. I usually put myself at the bottom & most times no self-love is taken. Thanks for this idea Rowan, I think it’s time I start taking some self-love to nurture/care/recharge and throw out the negativity. I’m no good to anyone if I’m always down on myself/hurting/crying. Setting aside one day a week for self-love will help to get through some tough love I received yesterday. (boyfriend of 3 yrs. said goodbye without even my thoughts about us.)

@debra2 Oh of course, Im glad you’re going to try to make time for you! I’m usually the care taker of everyone in my circle too, so I totally understand. It’s hard for me to set time for self-care/self love and when I try I usually end up feeling like I need to hurry or have guilty feelings. That’s why I stay up so late most nights, I see that as my window to focus on things I need to do or unwind with a show/movie. I’d like to make more of a routine for self love/care, maybe I will.
I’m sorry about your relationship trouble, you’ve got a coven here if you ever need to talk.
Blessed Be,
Rowan
