Soothing and Hope for Full Moon

As the year draws to a close and we approach the last Full Moon of 2021, I find myself reflecting on the year. I think of all the people I have met, the experiences that both I and they have had, and the sadness so many seem to carry.

As a poet, I’m a great cook. Neverthless here’s some silly verse that hopefully recognizes the reality of the struggle while providing some hope of moving forward in the new year. May it reach whoever needs it.

Your hurts will heal
But the scars will never go away
And you’ll never be less broken
than you are today.

But if your life is ruled by wounds
you’ll never taste the sun at noon.
You’ve suffered enough. Let it go,
And revel beneath the light of the moon.

Don’t worry. I’m not quitting my day job.

Thank you. I think that it’s beautiful, and yes, I really did this. This couldn’t reflect more how things are right now. Thank you for your words and for being an ear and for your always appreciated advice.

This one definitely reached me! And wow, what a poem- acceptance for all that is without shame or forced change, while shining a light on the hope ahead. This is perfect for the Full Cold Moon :full_moon:

At the very least you could take on poeting (poeteering? poetism? Words are evading me this morning- making poems lol) as a side gig! I think you’ve got a natural talent for it!:blush:

Thanks so much for sharing and wishing you a blessed full moon! :sparkles:

Oh :astonished: that’s really good!!! I’m a published poet, and that’s by far the best poem I’ve read in a while! Besides the tarot poems by @Amethyst :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: thanks for sharing this poem as it definitely fits for the full moon and the year itself.

I love this title, may I add my small works?

My song to this months full moon - Dec.2021

The scars we bare are the proof of the trials we have endured.
Are they unsightly? Not to those who understand.
Each and every scar is a badge of our courage.
We have survived, gaining both knowledge & strength.
Under your sad, ever watchful eyes, La Luna,
we have born the unendurable, suffered pain
that would make another fall.
And you watched as we did not fall, encouraging us to rise up.
And stand we did, with our shoulders back & chin up we declared;
“We are still here. We have battled for our family, our mates, our children but this year we also fought for ourselves & came out the better for it."
Ancient Moon, patient moon, thank you
for your silent guidance for our world and for us.
We face the New Year as a people renewed by the fullness of your light.

As above so below, as I have spoken, So mote it be
