My overall rating of the book : 7/10

How does this book relate to my magickal practice?:
I thought I would relate more to this book. I’m a newer witch and think/thought I was tending toward more of a traditional path, which attracted me to this book at first. Who knows, perhaps things have changed? Or perhaps I don’t relate to how the author describes traditional witchcraft. Unsure.

My personal thoughts/opinions:
What I liked about it was that the author really showed a way of practicing witchcraft while believing in polytheism, pantheism, and animism all at once. Which I am curious about and also am in process of exploring my own beliefs about. And then later in the book she talks about cursing and then also being open to good/black magic which is also interesting, and how I feel about things.

The topics of this book were great!: wheel of the year, lunar cycles, what is a witch and how you define yourself and your beliefs, the Dead, the Gods, group work, ritual, and even etiquette.
I couldn’t quite place my finger on it, but I just didn’t feel connected to this book. I don’t want to dismiss it for someone else, because I think the information was on point and useful to a beginner or more experienced practitioner. But perhaps her writing style was not up my alley? I thought this would be a “fall in love read” for me, but it just… wasn’t.

All in all, would I recommend this book?: Yes
