šŸ“– Spells8 Book Club XXVII (Apr 14 - May 12)

Wishing a warm welcome to all of the forum book-lovers!

:books:

Thank you again to everyone who joined in for last monthā€™s reading session! For those who havenā€™t yet shared their thoughts about their book (or anyone who enjoys reading book reviews!) you still have time to do so in :memo: Spells8 Book Club XXVI- Readerā€™s Reviews discussion .

As of today, the 27th book club reading session has now begun !

17cf4bc0a5238e0a85acbc6c1bef0cbeef14a1b2

On Your Mark, Get Set, READ! :books:

  1. Begin by announcing your book
The first post below is an editable wiki post- add your book title and name to the list! (instructions below)

  2. Know that you have [[ 4 weeks ]] in this reading session
While it is great if you can finish your book during this time, it is okay if you break it into chapters or sections- do as much as you can and know that doing your best is always good enough!

  3. As youā€™re reading, feel free to share your thoughts!
You are very welcome to share any thoughts or tidbits while you read in the comments below or in a new post in the forums. Just save the best parts for the final discussion at the end of the reading period!

  4. Join the final discussion
After four weeks, a discussion post will open encouraging all readers to share a review of their book and any personal thoughts they have about it. A mini-review is perfectly fine, and there will be a suggested format for anyone who would like to write a longer review.

A note about sharing books:

While everyone is free to choose their own book, you may consider reading along with someone else ! It is fun to share thoughts and insights about different books and even more exciting to do in-depth about a book with fellow readers :handshake:

If the book you plan to read is already on the list below, add your name to the list of others reading that book! For books with multiple readers, a separate discussion just for you will open for you to swap thoughts and share insights.

Please keep in mind that everyone will reconvene for the final discussion, regardless of which book you read :books:

If you are reading a book along with someone else, please make a note in the comments so I can create a special discussion thread for you!

At over 800 pages, I thought this one would be a two-monther for sure- but every time I sit down to ā€œjust read one chapterā€, Iā€™m still sitting there two hours later! Itā€™s been such a good read so far :open_book: :eyes:

Hope everyone else is enjoying their books just as much! Happy reading

Iā€¦ have not finished my book :slightly_frowning_face: but I now have 1 on my to be read list! I do like my steel crochet hooks & knitting needles :sewing_needle: & I have a set of cast iron pansā€¦ we just typically only use 1 of them when we use it.

@BryWisteria that is quite the book! I would have thought the same thing but Iā€™m always pleasantly surprised when I get engrossed in a book & then it dawns on me how much of it Iā€™ve read or how much actual time Iā€™ve been reading a good book :open_book:

Iā€™m hoping to at least start mine although Iā€™ve made it past the cover to the introduction page :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

@MeganB It is a chonker of a book! Not one I can tuck into my bag to bring out and about lol (although thatā€™s not an issue for anyone with an e-book reader!). If youā€™re a fan of character-based magickal fantasy, it comes highly recommended!

@Susurrus Agreed! Itā€™s such a good feeling to get sucked into the world of the story- the pages fly by! I hope your book picks up for you the further you get into it- happy reading! :open_book: :two_hearts:
