Hi @AngelicVillain! I know how you feel. I’ve been studying since 1990, and I still find lots of new stuff in the craft in general. It’s not possible to know it all, so follow your heart and interests.
I have been on the forum just over a year and still haven’t found everything there is on this forum alone! It is a great place.
My method (may not work for everyone) is to make friends first. I follow (mark as tracking or watching so I am notified of new posts) new things I find of interest and mute things I’m done with. That function is just below the line with the blue reply button at the end of the listing of comments.
Below that is a short list of new posts and threads. When I’ve finished reading them, older posts come up which I may or may not have seen before.
I’ve found that it is easier for me to copy and paste favorite spells to a notepad which I can save to an external hard drive for later use. Thus, I am building a digital grimoire every day. I’m not as organized as I’d like to be, but it is a work in progress.
This may help with organizing. I haven’t read the whole thread, but I found a lot I could use.
Also, try looking up Book of Shadows or Grimoire in the search button at the top of any page in the forum. There has been a lot of great ideas shared about keeping spells organized in apps or in a recipe box.
As for video in the forum, we do have to use a separate app like YouTube or TikTok and share a link for that. I simply copy and paste links. The forum only accepts jpegs, pngs, pdfs and gifs. I haven’t tried sharing wavs or mp3s.
To join in on a challenge hit the blue reply button at the end of the posts and write your ideas and experiences in the box that pops up below it. Replying to an individual post is a matter of hitting the white reply button at the end of that post or hitting the @. A list will pop up so you don’t have to type out someone’s full name. If you don’t see the one you want, type the first letter or two. Using the @ sign is an easy way to talk to several individuals in one post so you don’t have to wait 5 minutes between posts within one thread.
As for getting ideas for the challenges, Bry usually includes some ideas to get us started. If I’m still stuck, I’ll hold off a bit and read others’ posts until I am able to put together an idea of my own. We can share experiences, spells from other places (with references to where we found them), and novel ideas. All are welcome to post.
Questions are always welcome. As for whether or not you did the right thing with your question, it looks just fine! If anything gets disorganized, the moderators are good at moving things around to keep things organized. They are a great resource if there are issues with the programming or for other problems.
