Merry meet!

Thank you once again to all those who joined in for last week’s [Weekly Witchy Challenge - Interpreting Magickal Signs 🔍](https://forum.spells8.com/t/weekly-witchy-challenge-interpreting-signs-messages/50815)

After finding meanings in the messages and exploring the symbolism of signs, we’re taking a step back to see a bigger picture.

This week kicks off a brand new challenge series, and the first theme is…

 ![Celtic Magick Witch Challenge](https://spells8s3.b-cdn.net/original/3X/c/6/c6264b15692cfd1a6c82cf8df41ada568cc32dc3.png)

:triskele: :witch_cauldron: _ **Exploring Traditions: Celtic Magick** _ :triquetra: 📚

This is the first stop on our spiritual tour of [Pagan Paths & Traditions](https://forum.spells8.com/t/weekly-witchy-challenge-magickal-traditions-pagan-paths/41746) - this series of challenges hopes to shine a spotlight on some of the widely-practiced magickal traditions we often hear about in the witchy world.

For the sake of this challenge, “Celtic” is being used as an umbrella term to reference the traditions, practices, and folklore of Celtic and Gaelic cultures. While Celtic practices and traditions are based primarily in the British Isles, they are not exclusive to that region.

A note that you do not have to identify as a practitioner or follower of this tradition/area of magick to partake in this educational challenge. Additionally, you do not need to have cultural or ancestral ties in order to study this area of the practice. However, it is important to note that Celtic traditions are tied to modern-day cultures that still exist, and whom deserve respect and mindfulness _(for more on the topic, visit the [Can we talk about “Cultural Appropriation”?](https://forum.spells8.com/t/can-we-talk-about-cultural-appropriation/47280) and [Spiritual Practices and Cultural Appropriation](https://forum.spells8.com/t/spiritual-practices-and-cultural-appropriation/3554) discussions)_

The power of Celtic folklore, history, and traditions echo around the world and hold great value for everyone to learn from and find inspiration in - so let’s jump in! :witch_cauldron:

~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~

This week’s challenge is all about **exploring Celtic magick and traditions** - but as always, how you do so is up to you!

So are you ready? Because it’s…

CHALLENGE TIME!

### Learn More 📚

Are you new to Celtic magick? While “Celtic” is being used as an umbrella term, the truth is that the British Isles (as well as other parts of the world influenced by Celtic culture) have many interesting traditions, both unique and intertwined.

Whether it’s Celtic deities, folklore, old sayings, traditional spells, history, or more - if there is something about a specific Celtic tradition, consider learning more! You are welcome to share what you learned as your entry this week.

### Explore Your Ties 🧬

For your entry this week, consider exploring any ties you have to Celtic traditions or culture. This may be your blood ancestry, adoptive ancestry, past travel experiences, memories from past lives, your work with a Celtic deity, etc.

There are no “right” or “wrong” answers here - this is simply an invitation for you to learn more about yourself and any influences that may or may not influence your spiritual practice ✨

Challenge entry

Not sure if this counts

I once saved a baby crow poor thing fell out the nest and days I was being squawked at and they kept diving bombing me until I watch where they wanted me to go and so I followed and there in the bush was a baby crow. I picked him up gave him some water and put him in a shoe box and waited a bit but he couldn’t fly. So I called the RSPB and they said he needed to be taught how to fly so they told me how to do that and next min he took flight and flew off with his family. I was so happy and I think they were too. Now I think they come back just to say hi. I might be weird thinking that but I read somewhere they remember faces.

To this day I always say thank you and I feel it was a sign. I think it was Morrigan watching me and I heard the call and came to help. The best feeling was seeing him fly away and that was the first time I came close to a crow and he showed no fear.

Also i work from home and every day 3 crows comes and sits on my shed. I guess you could say she came to me never thought about it at the time but now I believe it was her.

That’s beautiful. 🖤 Kindness to animals is always lovely to see. 🥰

There seems to be a group of three crows in the area here as well. I keep the curtains open most of the time, and in the morning, when they fly past, one will pop by, yell at me, and then fly off. 😆 Sometimes I amuse myself by wondering if it’s telling me to hurry up and fly off with them. But my silly human wings won’t allow it.

Oh my stars. _squee_
Im so excited for this weeks challenge. I am celtic, my family hails from all over the British Isles. Brigid is my patronand her altar in my home is adorned with homemade grass crosses. (Pic to follow soon…).
I have been doing more reading and research, however, i am not super confident per se. So please dont mind me, i would like to sit in the back of the class and take notes if thats ok!
Will add more as the week progresses. So excited!!
