Love it! I have many more too. I was gonna make a post to share out tattoos but I didn’t get there yet
Challenge Entry:
I was given this book by a friend and I thought it would be prefect to use it to find my magical creature.
I chose the scitalis, because I really enjoyed the lore sureounding this magical beast and creature.
From the text:
"The snake SCITALIS gets that name because it is so splendid in the vanegation of its skin (scitulus elegant) that a man stops dead on seeing the beautiful markings. Owing to the fact that it is a sluggie crawler and has not the power to overtake people by chasing them, it captures them as they stand stupefied by its splendour. Moreover, it glows so much that even in winter time it displays the blazing skin of its body. About this creature Lucan sings: ‘And the Scytale herself, even now in the lands of the hoarfrost, Is about to slough off her spot-speckled skin.’
I also found this photo that represents them and I was sold.
The monster blog
I have been using the image of the snake this week to remind me of kundalini energy and moving my energyup and through my body. And calling on snake to move out of my old skin into my new self. I love that snakes are so self regenerative.
I love this phrase! I may have to look more into this creature!
Hee! Glad you liked my entry, @Mystique! My research for this has given me ideas!
Challenge Entry
Sorry. I hastily put this together to enter it before the deadline.
Sirens are one of the most well known creatures from Greek mythology. Half woman, half bird, two of them were said to live on an island in the western sea between Aeaea and the rocks of Sycalla and would lure sailors to their death with their enchanting voices.
The sorceress Circe, advised Odysseus to give his crew a pair of wax ear plugs to escape the Sirens’ deadly song. Odysseus, however, wanted to hear them, so to prevent himself from steering the ship off course, he had his crew tie him to the mast as they passed by their island.
In one of their origin myths, sirens were originally the guardians of Persephone, and when Hades kidnapped her, they incurred Demeter’s wrath for failing to protect her daughter, and the goddess turned them.
Well, I woke up, looked at my clock and saw that I missed this challenge. then I told myself to chill out that I can use this on the make-up the challenge.
