Merry meet! Thank you once again to all those who joined in last week’s [Weekly Witchy Challenge - Full Moon Magick ⚪](https://forum.spells8.com/t/weekly-witchy-challenge-full-moon-magick/52796) After working with the moon at her pinnacle of power, we’re now ready to take that energy and peer beyond. This week’s challenge surpasses boundaries to explore an element of the Other. The theme for this week’s challenge is… ![Spirit Element](https://spells8s3.b-cdn.net/original/3X/9/b/9be5729ee99ac356040d93d97e580801173e9f45.png) :spirit_element: ✨ _ **The Fifth Element: Spirit** _ 🤍 👼 The Fifth Element is Spirit - also known as “Aether” or “akasha”. For some practitioners, elements have a hierarchy and the Spirit Element sits on top, over the physical elements ([:fire_element: Fire Element](https://forum.spells8.com/t/weekly-witchy-challenge-of-the-element-fire/6789), [:air_element: Air Element](https://forum.spells8.com/t/weekly-witchy-challenge-of-the-element-air/6396), [:water_element: Water Element](https://forum.spells8.com/t/weekly-witchy-challenge-of-the-element-water/6287), and [:earth_element: Earth Element](https://forum.spells8.com/t/weekly-witchy-challenge-of-the-element-earth/6987)). Some view Spirit as being a unique force, while others envision it as a combination of the other elements in tandem. > In 1995, Scott Cunningham used the aether to describe the element of spirit and proposed that all of the other elements descended from it. He was not alone, as **many pagans interpret the fifth element of akasha to be a combination of earth, air, fire, and water**. Without akasha, they believe there would be nothing else, no earth, no spirit, no Magick. > > _From Spells8: [The Element Spirit](https://spells8.com/spirit-element-meditation/)_ Meanwhile, other practices may not recognize Spirit as an element, or call it by a different name. Feel free to explore your own beliefs around this elusive yet inclusive essence of magick, power, and life. ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ \* ~ This week’s challenge is all about **the element spirit** - how you choose to take on this theme is up to you!
