🕐 WITCH CHALLENGE ~ Catch-Up!

Challenge Five - (:witch_wisdom: Wisdom of the Witches – Keeper of Wisdom)

The final challenge I want to do for this catch-up challenge is Wisdom of the Witches. I’ve been a witch for half my life, at this point. I had my moments where I waned for than I waxed, but like the moon, life goes in phases. Besides sharing about my life and practice on the internet (through YouTube and my website), I also share quite a bit here!

I want to take some time to answer the prompts from the original challenge, both for my own reflection as well as for anyone else who reads my answers.

→ What are the most valuable things I’ve learned on my journey so far?

The only thing that comes to mind right now is that life moves in cycles, just like the Wheel, and to try and avoid those cycles is futile. Our paths twist and turn as much as the gnarled branches of the oldest trees. We mimic nature because we are nature, and that includes our tendency to move in cycles.

→ If I could go back and tell myself one thing about magick, what would it be?

Magic will always be there, even when you can’t feel it. Having been through some dark times in my life, there were moments where I felt like my spark had left and I had “lost my magic”. I know now that’s not true, nor do I think it’s possible. I can’t say past-me would have believed present-me, but it still would have been nice to hear in the moment.

→ Is there something I’d like every witch out there to know?

Practice your craft for you and you alone. Don’t compare what you do to others, because you will always come away disappointed. There will always be something you don’t know, and there will always be things you want to improve. But as soon as you turn your craft into a competition, it loses all spirit and authenticity – and, in my opinion, that defeats the purpose of practicing magic in the first place.
