:third_eye_open: WITCH CHALLENGE - Memory Magick

Witch Challenge for Amethyst:

I’ve got a terrible memory; always have. I can remember certain things about my childhood, but ask me to remember my first day of high school? Pfft. Not happening. I remember my childhood best friend’s name, but we were mostly just friends because the other two girls in the trailer park I grew up in were annoying, so I’ve forgotten most other stuff about her.

I’ve never been good at remembering my spelling words or just common things that most others remember. So I wrote a spell to help me with my memory, past, present, and future. I used the Goddess Brigid, partly because she is my patron deity, and partly because she was the Goddess of Poetry and the Bards.

The Bards in ancient Ireland didn’t write anything down. Everything was done by memory. All the information we have on Irish mythology has been mostly gleaned from what Christian monks wrote about it after the fact. So the Bards had to have had good memories!

Here’s the spell; hope you like it!

Spell to Help the Memory:

I want this spell to help me to remember better. To clear my brain fog and make everything clear.

Candles -

White Candle, to promote thinking and meditation

Yellow Candle, to promote the intellect and mental clarity

Orange Candle, for success and positive thinking

Herbs, if used -

Bay, for success and protection

Sage, or wisdom and protection

Rosemary, for protection and remembrance

Crystals -

Clear Quartz, for metal clarity and concentration

Amethyst, for understanding and helping to process memories

Hematite, to improve blood flow to the brain

Obsidian, for grounding and to keep negative energies away from your memories

Oil -

Olive Oil for protection, healing, and reconciliation

If using herbs, anoint a yellow, a white, and an orange candle with olive oil and use the herb mixture on all three. I’m putting the white one in the middle, but the other two can go on either side.

Charge and then place your crystals in front of the candles. I’m using crystal bracelets, which is why I’m using four instead of just three crystals to go with the three theme.

Light the candles and say:

Goddess Brigit, patroness of bards,

help me to remember.

Aid me in remembering the right words, at the right time,

and inspire me to remember what’s important in the future.

Most importantly, kindle the embers of sacred memories I’ve made in the past, so I can be warmed in their glow.

Lady Brigid, Goddess of Fire, Goddess of Poetry,

help me to remember it all.

So mote it be.

Thoughtful Thursday Bry,

I guess this is Challenge Entry. After looking at all these entries these last few days, I may have something to offer. I had mentioned my sun/moon water when I had good reports at the doctor.

When I make my sun water, I bless it with this verse–

Danu, thank-you for my water, Brigid, please put your superb, sensational sun beams in my water to help improve my mind.

Danu for the water and Brigid for the Sun.
Not sure if this counts or not.

I loved reading your entry and the History of The Bards in Ireland. Your spell and your affirmation are inspiring and once it is learned your can recite it any time it is really beautiful Amethyst. Brightness Blessings :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::wheel_of_dharma::heart:

@leilani1

Yes it definitely counts as an entry as you are blessing your water. Really love it Lady Gene :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::wheel_of_dharma::heart:

Challenge Entry - Tea Potion for Focus, Clarity, Mood & Memory

I was thinking about how herbs and tea leaves have been used in Forkore and Witches throughout history and decided to create my own blend (with a little help from teabags as it would have cost too much to buy each ingredient separately)

I made one hot and one cold so that it can be stored in the fridge and then strained, both do have the same ingredients just done in different ways are caffeine free.

Potion Bottle - I placed the below ingredients you can add as much as you wish however it will get stronger as it steeps.

:dotted_six_pointed_star: A Potion Bottle (or whatever you can store it in);

:dotted_six_pointed_star: I added a Spiral Charm to represent a journey of the mind, consciousness and inward reflection, retrieval of inner wisdom

:dotted_six_pointed_star: Sun Water

:dotted_six_pointed_star: Good Earth Peppermint & Spearmint Tea - The refreshing scent of mint to help promote alertness and reduce mental fatigue the aroma can improve attention, working memory, and cognitive performance - I used a small pinch.

:dotted_six_pointed_star: Twinnings Matcha Green Tea, Nettle, Ginseng - Helps support mental alertness and reduce brain fatigue Matcha also provides a natural calm and steady focus. Nettle was traditionally foraged by Hedge Witches as it was one of the earliest wild greens and can still be picked today. - I used a small pinch

:dotted_six_pointed_star: Fresh Herbs from my Garden

  • Rosemary - help improve attention, mental clarity, and cognitive performance. Its antioxidant compounds, also helps to protect brain cells from oxidative stress.

  • Thyme -contains compounds to help support relaxation and emotional well-being promote calm and reduce tension.

  • Lemon Balm - A member of the mint family, Lemon Balm has traditionally been used to promote relaxation and ease nervousnesses, help reduce anxiety while improving mood and cognitive performance during stressful situations.

  • Thai Basil (also known as Holy Tulsi) - to help the body adapt to stress while supporting emotional balance and resilience and help reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue.

Hot Tea Blend

:dotted_six_pointed_star: I placed one Good Earth and one Twinings Tea Bag in a cup of boiling water and then added the fresh herbs.

This was really good with all the above benefits but quickly to make. This would be a good tea blend at any time of day. I will be making this again.

:dotted_six_pointed_star: I thought to give them an extra boost. I cast them outside, evoked the Elements of the Watchtowers and added some crystals namely:

  • Clear Quartz as it is the Master Healer.

  • Honey Calcite as this boosts confidence aids in learning new things and completing your goals, improves decision making.

  • Girasol Quartz powerful calming energy, boosts creativity, helps with difficult issues, soothing the mind and promoting inner peace

With love and Light and Blessed Tea :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::wheel_of_dharma::teapot::green_heart:

Scintillating Saturday :astrology_moon:beam,

I never considered that, mixing tea bags, and making a larger batch because of the more tea bags. I’m thinking like sun tea in the gallon jars, with different tea bags for the purposes…I LOVE IT!!!:smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :hot_beverage:

@leilani1

Ah thank you I have been mixing tea bags and creating different blends for a long time. There are so many combinations. I also buy the teabags in individual packets as I feel that they could lose some beneficial qualities. Adding fresh herbs gives the tea an extra boost and again you can use any herbs you want. I do have single origin Assam loose tea for my monthly Tasseography Reading :waning_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart::teapot:

I’m glad you like it! Yeah, if the monks hadn’t recorded anything, we would have almost no information on the Irish Pantheon and its history. The Bards remembered it all! Can you imagine? I couldn’t do it.

I like your Tea Blend! That sounds like it would work. But did it taste okay?

@Amethyst

Yes but for them we would not know. The hot tea is lovely just using two tea bags from your favourites in the same cup brew as you would normally and just adding a few herbs not too much a couple of leaves. . Lemon Balm is really good and not too strong. It gives the tea freshness :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::wheel_of_dharma::green_heart::teapot:

Challenge Entry - Memory Magick

I started this challenge last week, but it’s been difficult being sick and still having to do all the things one needs to do in a week and still find spare time to work on this. Or honestly, maybe that’s just avoidance, knowing sitting down and reading the Rainbow Bridge Prayer for a Departed Pet at the start of Cat Nights would be emotional.

I’ve been working on gathering and organizing all the digital photos that are spread all on my hard drives and cloud drives in one place. During the many hours finding and moving files, I’ve found pictures long thought lost of past kitty companions and most dear - videos of Donut and Manny when they first came home to live with us. This week the landscapers have been working on creating a path along the side of the house that runs past Donut’s memorial stone. Plus I’m sitting writing this with a squeaking Newt tucked in tightly between me and the couch.

I don’t quite have the phyiscal and mental energy to post pictures but I will share links to two posts about Donut and how I have and will continue to his his and all my beloved companions that have gone on ahead of me.

So, I´m sliding in here at the last moment!

I occasionally enjoy doing a Tarot reading about my past lives, and this is the spread I use most often. It always sheds light on a different aspect, allowing me to learn which tasks can be examined—and perhaps even resolved—in this lifetime.

So, this is the spread from top to bottom:

  1. This card represents you in a past life which is most important at this moment in your present life.
  2. Something unresolved from that life.
  3. How it influences you today.
  4. How you can work with it.
  5. An important lesson you have to understand.
  6. An energy/gift you´re supposed to bring into this life.

I´ve used the Raven Deck for this reading, it always gives me very clear readings. If you want you can read details about my reading here:

Past Life Reading

What I gather from this is a lifelong issue I’ve faced regarding education, training, and my career: no matter how hard I try, I never seem able to truly realize my potential. Although I possess extensive training and qualifications as an art therapist, I am unable to put them to use. This is primarily because art therapy is not a recognized profession in Austria; the title “art therapist” is not legally protected, nor does the role even exist as an official profession. The only option is self-employment, which is very difficult to pursue in Austria.
The Eight of Cups in the second position indicates a likely connection to a past life: the drive to dedicate oneself wholeheartedly to an art or profession and to perfect it. Right next to it lies The Lovers card—reversed—which signifies not only romance but also successful business relationships; this suggests that the area in question is currently blocked. The fourth position implies that working even harder might resolve the issue. But can I really do that? Or will I end up burnt out? The crucial lesson I need to grasp comes from the Five of Cups: it is okay to grieve for dreams that did not come to fruition. At the same time, I trust that focusing on the positive aspects of my professional life is for the best. Even if it isn’t exactly what I had hoped for, I am content with it. Finally, the Ace of Pentacles represents the energy or gift I am meant to bring into my current life. It embodies the power of new beginnings and the trust that good and beautiful things will enter my life at the right moment, even if I cannot yet see them.

Have you ever done a past life reading? Do you have a favorite spread? Let me know! :purple_heart:
