❄ WITCH CHALLENGE - Snow Spells & Icy Magick

As it never snows where I live, I thought I would share some awesome pictures of Japan Snow Landscape. My son is there on holidays skiing at present and the landscape is so beautiful. Please note there are people in a few of the pictures. I thought it would be ok as they are not identifiable. If not, I will remove them. :folded_hands:

Needless to say it feels almost spiritual and angelic. I can certainly understand why snow is magik. :sparkling_heart: :snowflake: :snowman:

Challenge Entry

Ok, I have no idea how these (challenges) work, but thought I’d give it a go anyway.

This is what I am going to do tonight in the Waning moon. Context: Axel was my soul dog who passed two years ago and is now one of my guides in spirit. I’m struggling a lot with stress about getting additional support work hours so that I can participate in life more fully. However, everyone seems to be getting their hours cut instead of increased, so I’m panicking and dissociating a lot and losing time. We’re having a hot summer here in Australia, so I’m gonna wait till the sun goes down tonight and try this, just to centre myself and be present. Tomorrow, I might try a freezer spell cos there’s nothing else that I can do about the situation except wait.

One week to go!

A big thanks to all the cool witches and chill souls who have shared their icy magick so far! Popping in here to read entries is always refreshing :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :ice:

For those still pondering about the theme, rest assured that plenty of time remains on the challenge clock. There is one more week until this challenge closes.

Looking forward to reading your entries!

Blessed be :snowflake:

My usual season of narcoleptic naps has arrived in dizziness and an inability to continue organizing. Albus Bird sits in his cage, “purp.” Last time he did this, I fell into a deep, fevered sleep. He is watching over me, like Axel.

I read the main part of your spell aloud. The purping stopped. He seemed to understand I was aware of his assistance. While I’m typing this, he started singing normally, as though whatever comes over me has stepped back. Albus remains alert, watching.

Your spell resonates. Thank you for sharing.

This is my challenge entry
I wanted to create some art magic for the challenge, and I made pictures of the process, so this is going to be a rather long-ish post.
I always loved the concept and idea of the written word as powerful magic. I´m fascinated by Ethiopian talismanic scrolls or the chinese FuLu Talismans. So, for this challenge I wanted to transform the cleansing and purifying power of ice into a magical written talisman, to bless, cleanse and protect my home.

My first step was to take a sheet of watercolor paper, put it into a plastic container and cover it with ice. I´ve smoke cleansed everything and told the paper and the ice cubes what their task will be. (I like to call this step “programming”; I´ve learned this from Kelly Ann Maddox´s book “Rebel Witch” and it resonated so much with me!)

Then I dripped acrylic ink onto the ice. I took light blue and turquoise for cleansing and some purple for spiritual guidance and black for protection.

I love this picture so much!! And then I just wait and let the ice melt to soak the paper with the water, color…and energy.

I love how the ice cubes leave their traces on the paper.

After everything is dry, I´m writing my sacred text (a spell for cleansing and protection of my home) with black ink and a paintbrush. It takes a while and I love the outcome. But I´m not done yet, because I love layering my magic!

Next, a protective sigil is painted across the writing. After this is dried up, I´m dabbing it with protection oil. Since the paper is rather thick, it can take the oil without any problem.

And finally I´m folding everything into a neat little book by using an easy zine-folding technique.

I´m decorating my booklet with ribbons and use them to add some knot magic because…layering, right.

And now I have a magical talisman book that will cleanse and protect my home. Tadaaaa! :dizzy: :magic_wand:

Enjoying the spell. A bit of a loss for a second, as part of a word is invisible about a third of the way down: “I clear the di? Renew the dream.”

Here is the whole spell! I didn´t include it in the post, because it was soo long already.

By light of sun and moon’s soft glow,
I cleanse this home with ice and snow.
Fresh winds sweep through every space,
Washing dark from every place.
With frost’s pure touch and snow’s white gleam,
I clear the air, renew the dream.
No shadow lingers, none shall stay,
This home is safe both night and day.
Walls of ice, strong and bright,
Shield this house with frozen light.
Love and peace within shall grow,
Protected by the ice and snow.
So mote it be, with heart sincere,
Cleansed and guarded, ever near.
Bless this home, both near and far,
Safe and sound, just as we are.

I wrote this with help from AI because I honestly suck at writing spells.

I didn’t have any snow but with this full moon in Leo, I have this Leo in energy and I have to be like a Lioness! I called to you, the lionness for my Freezer Spell and called to Hecate my mother I never had!

I listened to this music for catharsis
[Diamond :gem_stone: and Demons] Nessi Gomes (https://youtu.be/zHdz_48ds4A?si=inuL4RfLzRR8NKRQ)
It’s not easy I knew what the song was about, but I looked it up on ChatGPT The song “Diamonds and Demons” by Nessi Gomes is largely about the inner struggle between light and darkness within ourselves — accepting all parts of who we are rather than just the positive or “light” side. The lyrics and themes suggest that the “diamonds” represent beauty, strength, and the parts of us we value, while the “demons” are the darker internal battles we face, especially in the night or in solitude. Rather than rejecting those demons as something wrong or bad, the song speaks to acknowledging them as part of our whole identity and inner world — essentially saying that light and dark both have a place and both contribute to our beauty and wholeness.

This fits with the broader theme of exploration of the human psyche and experience on her album — a collection of music that deals with shadows and hope, vulnerability, insecurities, and truth.

So in essence, the song is about:

• confronting inner struggles (“demons”)
• recognizing that trying to see only the “light” as right is limiting
• and understanding that darkness is also part of what makes us beautiful or whole.

It’s a reflective, emotionally honest piece about embracing all aspects of self, not just the comfortable ones.
Here is a playlist beautiful music and touching for the theme of catharsis. If you noticed in my altar, I do have an egg. It’s a black egg and it is obsidian. It is for renewal and releasing. We no longer serves.
Play list Nessi Gomes

So I put the pendulum to the test and I use the emotional code which you can buy it’s by a guy named
My emotional Code I use using pendulum
so when I figured out what trapped emotions I had, I put it on my water bottle and froze all my unwanted energies and released it then I use some bay leaves, and I called to mighty Hecate queen of the witches, and I called her during the Mercury planet which gave me a better communication withwhi! I used my black bowl and I did a cleansing ritual with thyme. Then I open the circle calling out all the elements and I waited till the right time when Mercury was inposition so I would have Hecates favor! Then I released all of the things that I wanted to that I thought that I needed to release that the pendulum said that I had using the Bradley Nelson emotional chart.
Everybody’s Challenge is absolutely beautiful and I just hope you guys know that I am empowered! May you be blessed by the moon and enjoy the music she’s
My new groove!

It’s an amazing photo and a wonderful idea to transfer colors and intent to paper! I’ll have to try it myself sometime. I have watercolor paper and watercolors that I’m too hesitant to use, but this feel fun and approachable! :black_heart: :blue_heart: :purple_heart:

Yes, it´s easy to do. Just make sure your tray is wide enough to catch all that water from the ice cubes.

I’m running a bit behind, too. Sorry. Your music choice was very good. Thank you. I did look at some of her other offerings, too.

Mother Earth would help filter the unwanted emotions and purify them as energy for other things. The plants would enjoy the water. You wouldn’t even have to let the ice melt indoors, since the warm California sun would melt it for you. That way, the emotions wouldn’t stay indoors near you. It may be good to take the ice off of your property for disposal, if you have access to a park or abandoned land.

Witch Challenge for Amethyst:

Hey everyone!

I’m going to be doing this spell tomorrow morning, so I don’t have any pictures. I basically wrote an amusing little prayer to banish the snow. I plan on lighting a blue candle to honor the Cailleach and a yellow candle for warmth and the sun. Then I’ll say this prayer and hope the Goddess doesn’t drop a giant boulder on me. LOL!

Snow Banishing Prayer

Cailleach, Goddess of ice and snow,

I’m here to tell you, you’ve got to go!

I’m tired of cold and gray skies above,

and drifts of snow tall enough for trees to be in awe of!

Pack away your cauldron, your frost and your snow.

And back to the Highlands, you must go!

I am ready for the first robin of Spring,

and all the color and warmth it will bring!

So I thank you for the Winter’s rest.
But you must go, I think it’s for the best!

Return to your cave, your rocky grotto,

and let Spring return and the grass to grow!

So mote it be!

Think it’ll help?
