Excellent job on your challenge! You explain every step in a magical, understanding way.
Great job on your challenge. I love your pictures! By the way, I also HATE spiders more than anything. After reading yours, I want to be a kid again!
Mote it Be,
Medea
I love your challenge! Great pictures with a little detail about each one.
I am a little nervous about doing this challenge. I have a very hard time remembering anything good in my life. The doctors want to hypothesize me but no thank you, if it is that bad that I have to block “things” then so be it. Don’t get me wrong, I remembering having my two (2) kids and buying my first house but not much of my childhood.
Mote it Be,
Medea
Thank you @Medea
Aww Thankyou. ![]()
The Inner Child can also be the current disposition. I like thinking the Inner Child is how I look at things now… which is a better look for me!
Thank you, I like the way you think. I am really going to have to think about this one. Thank you again.

Challenge Entry - Your Inner Child
The Tarot for Creative Writing reminded me that I have wanted to watch the seminar for Triggering Creativity with Tarot by Benebell Wen. I’d printed out the companion workbook ages ago (over 3 years!!!) but hadn’t gotten around to actually watching the webinar until last week.
I chose to try the Triggering Creativity with a Simple Cross Spread
(Forgive the photos - squeezing this in on an overnight trip for an appointment.)
I won’t share my reading, but I will share the cards I pulled.
- Knight of Mushrooms/Pentacles (Reversed)
- Seven of Mushrooms (Reversed)
- The Heirophant
- Six of Mushrooms
- Four of Mushrooms
The other part of my challenge is sharing my childlike glee at the bounty of feathers I found last Thursday and Saturday while I was out running. It happens to be Fall Migration Season for migratory birds in the United States (you can view migration forecasts here). To get ready for migration, birds will shed a few of their worn feathers to grow in new ones. I appear to have been in the right places at the right time ![]()
The first 3 photos are feathers from Red Tailed Hawks. They like to perch on high vantage points, and I happened to run past a set of utility towers that they clearly utilize. I had never seen primary feathers from a red tail, so these were very exciting to find. (My running partner was thankfully patient with my
fascination)

What a wonderful collection of feathers! I didn’t know that birds actually shed feathers so they can grown in new ones before they migrate. I learned something today - thanks!
Beautiful feather haul, @Artemisia! I knew about the Fall Migration event going on, but didn’t make the connection with the increase in feathers scattered about the backyard the last few days. Makes perfect sense - and I love the Bird Cast link, too. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Well my daughter has since taken ownership but we came up with the name Sweetpea ![]()
@Artemisia @TheMuslimWitch @dan3 @Greenbriar - Lovely Entries!
Witch Challenge from Amethyst:
I wasn’t sure what to do for this one, as most of the cartoons and things I’m still interested in came about when I was an adult already. And when I watch the old Superfriends cartoons, they seem too simpler than the adventures that I remember. I didn’t even want to try Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. I was afraid being an adult would ruin the memories. Same with Thundercats.
But something came to me yesterday, quite literally. Sally and my friend Evon were out running errands, so I was in my chair by the window. I heard a rustle in the bushes and looked to see a faun in my backyard!
BAMBI!
I couldn’t help myself, I said hi. But instead of running away, it stayed long enough for me to talk to it a bit, tell it how beautiful it was! Then it turned around and went back the way it came, jumping around with it’s little tail flipping.
IT was SO cute! I didn’t even think to get a picture. I don’t know why. Maybe because I’m not a big picture person, so it wasn’t an automatic thought. Maybe because the magic would have faded away if I had proof.
Either way, I felt like I was touched by the magic of the Woods, here in my apartment in town. Not only that, but it was a faun, which made me think of how brave it was for how young it was. But maybe that bravery was ignorance, like so many children are brave, talking to people they don’t know.
Either way, it was a magical moment and thrilled me to my soul. It reminded me of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, and other magical visits that you wish for. That there is still wonder and magic in the world. It was a lovely little three-mintue visit and I’ll remember it for a long time!
Oh, @Amethyst - that’s such a beautiful moment I practically have tears in my eyes!
You were just given a gift from Gaia. There may be some symbolism from your visitor being a fawn (different spelling, same baby!), but sometimes, any experience with a gentle soul that trusts us for a moment or two is enough, without further analysis.
I think you were right not to try for a photo. Like people at a live concert who stare into their phones all night while recording, that’s not living in the moment, is it? You chose to be present and have your private interaction. I admire you for it!
I hope this special feeling stays with you forever, lovely! Blessings! ![]()
What a magical experience @amethyst! How wonderful and what a lovely memory you have of it now - photo or no photo. And probably, if you had got up to grab your phone to take a photo, it would have been gone and you would have missed those minutes you shared with it.
Inner Child Challenge Entry:
I didn’t have the best Childhood, far from it actually. I won’t go into any details here as it’s not appropriate. I will say however, that I Healed from my Inner Child Wounds through Spiritual Healing! This is one of the many reasons why Spiritual Healing is my true passion and calling in this lifetime! To add one extra layer of Healing to the Healed Wounds, I decided to make a Spell Jar Army since I have become quite the Spell Jar enthusiast over the last month or so!
In my Spell Jar, I included the following Crystals:
-
Clear Quartz
-
Mookaite
-
Moonstone
-
Red Goldstone
-
Rhodonite
-
Rose Quartz
-
Sodalite
-
Tree Agate
In my Spell Jar, I included the following Herbs:
-
Catnip
-
Chamomile
-
Lavender
-
Lemon Balm
-
Passion Flower
-
Peppermint
I briefly meditated with one of the Spell Jars in one hand and Rose Quartz in the other and recited the Healing Affirmation, “I love my Inner Child Unconditionally.”
Thank you for reading and Blessed Be!
@Greenbriar I hope that you don’t mind that I did a Spell Jar
Entry as well. The Spell Jars have been keeping me really calm and level headed during all of the craziness lately!
Of course I don’t mind! You can never have too many spell jars! I’m so glad yours have been bringing you peace and calm.
Thank you!
I completely agree with you! I now make one to put on my Altar and a few more to put around the apartment and one to take on the go too
Me too girl! I was feeling really anxious today, so I held my anti-anxiety spell jars and made more lol.
I’d like to blame spell check, but no. It was me.
Thank you! And it was so pretty! You’re right, if I had taken the time to look for my phone, I would have missed half of it. I’m glad I didn’t!
Yeppers. Probably. And it would have taken the magic from the moment I think. Magic doesn’t leave proof. It leaves faith.
Challenge entry
My inner child is playful and fun. She talks to herself and plays with her imaginary friends, which are many. She forgives herself for mistakes.
Here’s a recipe for my inner child oil blend and room spray, written with the help of ChatGPT (AI):
Inner Child Essential Oil Blend
This blend will smell bright, sweet, and playful — like a hug from your inner child.
(Makes about 20 drops total. You can scale up if needed.)
• **6 drops Sweet Orange or Mandarin** → joy, innocence
• **4 drops Roman Chamomile** → comfort, peace
• **4 drops Lavender** → gentle love, safety
• **3 drops Lemon or Grapefruit** → playfulness, sparkle
• **2 drops Vanilla (or 1 if strong)** → sweetness, nostalgia
• **1 drop Jasmine or Ylang Ylang (optional)** → wonder, magic
Blend these in a small glass vial. Give it a little shake and smell — if you want it brighter, add 1 more citrus; if softer, add 1 more lavender or chamomile.
Inner Child Room Spray
Base: ½ witch hazel (14% alcohol) + ½ distilled water.
Assembly
1\. In your spray bottle, add **9–12 drops of your essential oil blend** per 2 oz bottle.
2\. Drop in a tiny pinch of one uplifting herb (like lemon balm or rose).
3\. Add a chip of citrine or rose quartz if you’d like.
4\. Fill with base, shake gently, and say:
“With each mist, I awaken joy.
With each breath, I welcome play.
My inner child is safe, free, and happy.”
So mote it be!
