It’s wonderful Tory. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding
Thank you so much!
Weekly Witchy Challenge for Amethyst:
I’m not doing a vision board because I’m terrible at things like that. LOL! So I wrote this for the morning after Winter Solstice Night. I hope you like it!
Light a gold or yellow candle at the moment of Sunrise if you’re able to. You can usually find it on your weather app. For me it’ll be 7:38 am, EST.
Say the following Prayer:
Prayer to the Newborn Sun
I pray to the Mother, who has labored this night to bring for the Newborn Sun!
Your hard efforts this night will bring forth warmth and light to the land.
Rest easy, my Lady, for you have done well!
I welcome the Newborn Sun! May your shine in our hearts every day!
Shine your light on the paths we walk on, and light our ways when it gets dark!
Blessed be.
Hope y’all like! Merry Solstice!
@Congrats on your upcoming wedding hun
@Mystique thank you so much took most of the day and didn’t get much time for meditating but in it’s own little way it was very therapeutic to cook No i wish i made the dress and a month back i was looking for sunflower fabric but they were either very over priced and even so not what i was looking for
@georgia thanks you hun
@jayne thank you very much Just so excited to be here at home to be able to celebrate this year for at least one sabbat. I am planning to go and get some rosemary and Thyme as i ran out of both but then will return and do the Litha ritual and later on have some cake and cookies
I love your entry and your notion of honoring chaos. That sounds like something I need to do. I feel like I’ve been shaken about by chaos for quite a while now. Perhaps it’s time to shift my perspective and embrace it and flow with whatever comes along with it. Thank you & Blessed Be
I hope your new year is what you want it to be. Thankyou. Blessed be
Challenge Entry!
I did the vision board as well and I’m hoping I will stick as close to this as possible, but we shall see what the new year brings
Congratulations!
Several have mentioned staying up all night in vigil. I napped from 10:30 until 1 am. This was more subconscious than intentional. At 5 am, I dozed off again, so I didn’t quite make it through the night. I did go outside briefly to greet the moon and the few stars I could see. It was nice.
When Albus woke me just after 7, I was still cleaning cages as the sun rose. However, I did have my tree lit, and I plan to keep it on all day. Lit my candles just after sunrise for my usual morning ritual.
Welcome back, sunshine!
That is so you. Wouldn’t have it any other way… Until you and Loki decide otherwise.
Hugs back lovely

And a wonderful Litha to you!
I’m doing it tonight, because I’m weird and wanted to do it on Saturday to Sunday. It makes sense in my brain. LOL! I slept well last night and took a long nape. It’s about 9:30 now. We’ll see how late I can stay up.
You’re welcome! Glad you liked it!
challenge entry
I kinda had a few ways to explore this Litha period ( southern hemisphere) along with christmas / new years.
Apps clean up and focus on health and wellbeing going into new year
Firstly i was looking at improving health so i cleared clutter of apps to focus on certain apps to track health.
I also found kinda world app which is cute and even gives a space to decorate as well as looking at health.
This app is obviously more north hemisphere for Christmas/ yule season but still its still got a nice feel to the space. You grow the plant by watering it and can do by doing a wellbeing task like breathing or emoyion naming
Physical challenge
My health has been rubbisg so less active and as result put on weight. I don’t eat alot or each lots of junk but my lessening of physical activitu has had an impact so to try help get more active while taking into consideration of chronic health
I decide to pull out some motivational virtual type challenge medals i got ages ago when i was more active that i hadnt technically done tge challenge officially as in actually working towardss that medal though ive technivally done the distance …it wasnt mindful of a specifical challenge but i decided eben if i had earnt it i could still earn it again…anyeay i looked at the few i had not specifically done distanxes for and found this one matches the Litha or summer solstice well especially witg affirmatuons on it which ive been also trying to do more of
And as i had pacer app im using it to track the distance on my phone that i do . Ill need more than one fir this challenge as 100 miles or for me 160km but i thought sticking yo tgeme of christmas lol i found this one
I might do more later but im preparing for christmas and housesittubg for several week which ill ve going pretty much hermit style as its in unfamilar place and i dont have a car so i have to make sure got supplies anc food for nearly 3 weeks to self sustain and then arrange to get it all to the place looking after.
Though a thought about renewal and starting new chapter i just realised snakes shed their skins and start anew …im looking after a pet snake while housesitting lol was just random thought but also a cat which i think freya will like and ill be caring for their garden too…connecting with earth. So i guess since i dont haveva garden and cany have pwts where i am…it will be a great way to reconnect with my practice and my dieties/ clan as well
Me too. I just got done with my Yule log lighting ritual that i was preseon Insight Timer and theres a bunch more events for all night so I’m gonna stay up and hang out on the meditation app with my other online family.
Happy Solstice to you all.
How are you doing? Still up? I’ve been looking for recipes to post today and I think I’ve lost what little mind I have because I can’t decide so I’m gonna post a bunch. LOL!
Merry Solstice!
It’s not weird! Saturday was the longest night, so it makes sense to stay up for the longest night to watch the sunrise or welcome the sun back the next day.
Yup! I was the one that was weird!
I slept in (10pm until 2:30am), this morning after babysitting.
CHALLENGE ENTRY
Very soon, we will approach Hogmanay. This is the name given to New Year’s Eve in Scotland. We dont really k ow the orgins of the word but some say its from the French phrase hoguinané, which is a gift given at New Year. It may have been brought to Scotland by French-speaking soldiers during the reign of Mary, Queen of Scots. Another theory links Hogmanay to the Old Norse phrase höggo-nótt, which means the night of the last day of the year. It may have been brought to Scotland by the Vikings.
Many of our traditions go back to the when the Vikings were in Scotland. They celebrated Yule and over time, these traditions merged with Gaelic ones to form what was done on Hogmanay. This includes lighting fires and torches to ward off evil spirits and negativity. People would march through the street with torches to cleanse themselves and “burn away” evil spirits and negativity, thus purifying them for the New Year. This is still done today in some places but more for tourists. The biggest one is in Edinburgh, the captial city.
From Independent Travel Cats
In scotland, we go first-footing, where the first person to enter a home after midnight brings gifts and is believed to bring good luck for the coming year. Gifts are symbolic and represent different things: Coal form warmth, a coin for prosperity and whisky for health. The first person should not be blonde haired though. This dates back to the vikings again. They were fair headed and were linked with negative actions.
From StreetsofSalem
At midnight, we open our doors to say goodbye to the old and welcome in the new. Some people also walk out the back door of their house and come back in the front door to symbolise this. Pots and pans are banged to ward off evil spirits too. It is also traditional to eat steak pie after midnight or as a family meal on January 1st.

And of course, who can forget a rendition of Auld Lang Syne by arobert Burns…the Scottish song that has become a worldwide new year tradition.
