Hi, I’m Kathy from the Highlands of Scotland. I’m 53 and after many years of seeking am finally settling onto my own personal spiritual path which I would describe as electic/elemental witchcraft. I began reading books on paganism in the 1990s. In 2011 I joined a local Buddhist meditation group as I was looking for an in-person community and there is a lack of pagan groups here. I learned how to meditate at the Buddhist group, but something in me resisted going further into formal Buddhist initiation. I felt strongly that I wanted to be closer to a more local spiritual tradition from my homeland. So I started reading about Druidry, re-read Marian Green’s ‘natural magic’, and explored Ronald Hutton’s work on European paganism. Then I found this online community and am really impressed by the wealth of resources here.

My personal relationship with ‘the Divine’ is probably best described as Elemental. I work with energy as it manifests in the 5 elements (rather than working with specific Deities.) Taking inspiration from Druidic tradition in the British isles I am developing my own practice of raising energy through ritual.

I’m also a student in Sound Healing which I have found has many links to modern paganism, in terms of energy work, the power of compassionate intention, and connection to the divine through meditation.

I feel as I’m sure many here do, that our world is in great peril with wars and climate change and there has never been a more important time to develop a spiritual practice and act with compassion towards our fellow humans and all of nature.
