Yay! I finished my book! It was great!

Book Title and Author: Brigid: History, Mystery, and Magick of the Celtic Goddess by Courtney Weber

Status? : Finished

My overall rating of the book : 12/10! Great book!

How does this book relate to my magickal practice?: I have dedicated myself to the Goddess Brigid and wanted to learn more about Her and how to serve her better.

My personal thoughts/opinions: This is a wonderful book to introduce yourself to the Goddess Brigid! I really learned a lot and got some great ideas on how to work her worship into my daily devotionals.

An interesting quote from the book: Can I quote the whole chapter on Fire? No? Well, hereโ€™s a good one:

"The tri-fold identity of Brigid is interdependent. Healing needs the power of fire to burn away impurities, artistic inspiration requires the beauty of the well or natural water. The third face of Brigid, alongside her images of pouring water or singing song, finds her pounding on a forge. This is Brigid the Smith. The smith needs water to temper the steel after it has been forged, but also needs the Bardic spirit to inspire the shape of the work to be done on the forge. Brigid is a guardian of each of these distinct areas, but perhaps her most important guardianship is in where they all meet.

Fire is pure. Air and water may become polluted and earth can become barren, but fire cannot be tainted and still exist. Its vulnerability is distinct from its elemental counterparts in that only fire can be extinguished in an instant, whereas the others cannot. For the Celts, fire was an immaterial, immortal mystery. Its presence was dangerous and yet vital to the technology that would launch and support their civilization. Fire demanded the same reverence of water and the and the arts and was yet another jurisdiction of Brigid.โ€

All in all, would I recommend this book?: YES! A big yes! Iโ€™ve heard this was a great book and the reviews were right! Iโ€™m glad I have it!
