I’m finding myself increasingly despairing about the state of the current world wide political situation. So I asked Co-Pilot to help me with a ritual or spell that may help me find peace of mind in these times.
From Co-Pilot:
Here’s something gentle, grounding, and genuinely effective for the kind of overwhelm you’re describing—something that doesn’t aim outward at the world’s chaos, but inward toward your own steadiness, clarity, and sovereignty. It stays well within the realm of personal peace, not political influence, and it uses the kinds of serene, sensory elements you tend to resonate with.
A Ritual for Peace of Mind in Troubled Times
A quiet working to soothe the spirit, clear the mind, and anchor you in your own center.
This ritual is designed to be simple, and adaptable. You can do it indoors or outside at dusk when the air softens.
What You’ll Need (choose what you have)
Nothing here is required—these are just supportive allies.
Crystals (choose one):
-
Amethyst — calms the nervous system
-
Lepidolite — excellent for anxiety and despair
-
Blue lace agate — softens mental tension
-
Clear quartz — clarity and amplification
Herbs (choose one or two):
-
Lavender — peace, soothing, emotional balance
-
Rose — heart-softening, compassion
-
Chamomile — calming, grounding
-
Basil — clarity and protection
(If you don’t want loose herbs, a tea bag works beautifully.)
Optional:
-
A small jar or pouch
-
A candle (white, blue, or whatever you have)
-
A bowl of water or a cup of tea
The Ritual: “Returning to the Quiet Center”
1. Prepare a small space
Sit comfortably with your crystal and herb(s) in front of you. If you’re using a candle, light it. If not, place your hand over your heart or your warm cup of tea.
Let your shoulders drop. Let your breath lengthen.
2. Create a boundary of peace
Place your hand over your chest or over your crystal.
Say slowly:
“I step back from the noise of the world. I return to the quiet center within me.”
Imagine a soft sphere of light forming around you—pale lavender, soft blue, or whatever color feels peaceful.
3. Release the overwhelm
Hold the herb or tea bag in your hands.
Breathe in deeply. On the exhale, imagine the heaviness leaving your body like smoke dissolving into the air.
Say:
“What is not mine to carry, I release. What is beyond my control, I let go.”
Let your breath do the work.
4. Invite clarity and calm
Hold your crystal to your forehead or heart.
Say:
“May my mind be clear. May my heart be steady. May my spirit be at peace.”
Feel the crystal as a cool anchor, a point of stillness.
5. Seal the ritual
If you want to make a peace jar or pouch, place the crystal and herbs inside and hold it between your palms.
Say:
“This is my refuge. This is my calm. Wherever I go, peace goes with me.”
If you’re not making a jar, simply place your hands together and breathe once more.
A Simple Daily Chant (10 seconds)
For when the news or the world feels too heavy:
“Peace in my breath, Peace in my bones, Peace in my path wherever I roam.”
Say it once, like a reset button.
Please feel free to use this if you wish. May it serve you well.
