This is a ritual that I created for my partner who has bouts of stress and anxiety. While it was used on someone else, it could be adapted to use on one’s self. I also invited Osiris so the instructions mention him but this could be easily changed to suit your practice. Its a long one and took us over an hour to get through but I wanted to share in case it was of some use to anyone.
You will need:
- Palo Santo or sage
- Chamomile (herb or essential oil)
- Lavender (herb or essential oil)
- Rosemary (herb or essential oil)
- Sandalwood (herb or essential oil)
- Frankincense (herb or essential oil)
- Candles - White or blue candles (symbolising peace).
- Incense - Sandalwood or frankincense.
- Small Bowl
- Soft blanket or sheet
Instructions

Choose a quiet area where the person can lie down. I used a massage bed.

Dim the lights or use soft lighting.

Play soft, soothing music or nature sounds.

Arrange the candles and any images or symbols of your deities (I called upon Osiris) on the altar.

Invite the person to lie down, ensuring they are comfortable.

Cover them with the soft blanket.

Light the candles and incense.

Invite your deity into your space:
Oh, Osiris, god of the afterlife and renewal, I invite your presence into this sacred space. May your wisdom and guidance envelop us, bringing peace and healing to my partner as we embark on this journey together.
This can be change to suit your own deities.

Light the Palo Santo or sage and let it burn for a few seconds.

Blow out the flame, allowing the smoke to waft.

As the smoke rises, gently wave the stick over yourself and the other person, saying:
With this sacred Palo Santo, I cleanse this space and our energy. May this smoke carry away any negativity, leaving only peace and tranquility in its place.

Move the stick in a circular motion around the other person, inviting in positive energy.

Sit quietly and take deep breaths.

Focus on the intention to bring peace and relaxation to the other person

Ask them to do the same.

Visualise them (and you) surrounded by calming light, free from anxiety.

In a small bowl, begin with the first herb or oil:
I am adding sandalwood oil. This scent helps ground you, bringing a sense of tranquility.
Add the sandalwood oil to the bowl.
Next, I’m adding lavender. This beautiful herb eases anxiety and encourages restful relaxation.
Add lavender oil or dried lavender to the mix.
Now, I’ll add frankincense. This sacred oil deepens our sense of peace and connection.
Add a few drops of frankincense oil or resin.
I’m also adding chamomile. Its aroma promotes relaxation and helps you feel at ease.
Sprinkle some dried chamomile into the mixture.
Finally, I am adding rosemary. This fragrant herb will repel negative energy and attract positivity.
Add dried rosemary or oil into the mixture.
- Hold the bowl with the herbs and oils near the other person’s s face (at a comfortable distance).
- Encourage them to take deep, slow breaths, inhaling the calming scents.
- As you guide them, say:
As you breathe in, focus on the soothing scents surrounding you. Draw in the calming aroma of sandalwood. May this help stabilise my partner’s spirit, bringing them tranquility and peace. Feel its warmth in your lungs, calming your mind. As you exhale, let go of any tension or worry you’re holding onto.
Next, breathe in the gentle fragrance of lavender. May it calm you and ease your anxiety. With each inhale, allow its soothing energy to wash over you. As you exhale, release any lingering stress.
Now, draw in the calming scent of chamomile. May its gentle aroma bring comfort and serenity. This gentle scent nurtures your spirit, preparing you for a deeper state of relaxation.
Now, inhale the rich, grounding essence of frankincense.as you inhale, feel it anchor you, bringing clarity and insight. As you exhale, imagine any burdens lifted away.
Finally, focus on the fresh scent of rosemary. Allow it to penetrate your body as you inhale, dissolving all negativity and replacing it with bright, white energy. As you exhale, visualise all negativity being released and dissipating.

Continue to breathe deeply, allowing each scent to guide you further into relaxation.

Now, start the guided visualisation
As you lie in a deep state of relaxation, breathe in the soothing scents around you, imagine yourself standing in a vast, sunlit desert. The warm sand stretches out beneath your bare feet, grounding you in this serene moment. With each step you take, feel the grains of sand shift and mould to your feet, providing a comforting embrace.
As you walk, notice the sun gently caressing your skin, and a soft breeze begins to stir, carrying whispers of coolness through the air. With each step, the landscape starts to change. The golden sand beneath you gradually transforms into the lush, vibrant green grass of a beautiful garden. Take a moment to look around you and embrace your beautiful surroundings.
The air fills with the fragrance of blooming flowers and soft greenery. Each breath fills you with calm, washing away any tension or worry. The gentle rustle of leaves and the sweet scent of sandalwood, lavender, and chamomile surround you, inviting you deeper into this tranquil space.
in the distance, you notice a figure standing among the trees, bathed in soft light. They radiate warmth and tranquility, inviting you closer. As you approach, you begin to notice the details of this figure; their hair, their face, what they are wearing, their expression and demeanour. Feel the peaceful energy surrounding them, wrapping you in a comforting embrace.
As you draw nearer, allow yourself to release any remaining stress. It melts away like the morning dew under the sun. The presence before you is here to guide you. You may recognise them as a familiar deity, spirit, or even a passed loved one…or perhaps they remain a mystery—either way, you know that they come with love and support.
Take a moment to connect with this presence. Notice the feelings that arise within you. They begin to speak. Listen to the messages, insight and wisdom that they wish to share with you. Take it all in…
They out stretch their hands and offer you a gift. You take the object and hold it in your own hands. Feel its presence and ponder its significance to you. They speak to you once more “is there anything you wish to ask me?” Take this time to ask them anything that comes to mind, listening intently to their response.
As you stand together, visualise a radiant light surrounding you both, a protective shield that nurtures your spirit. This light is infused with peace, love, and healing energy. Allow it to wash over you, filling you with a profound sense of safety and wellness.
The figure in front smiles at your and holds out their hands once more. This time, there is no gift but instinctively, you place your hands in there’s. Feel the warmth and comfort that emanates from them. Feel all of the worries and burdens you’ve been carrying leaving your hands and into the hands of the comforting presence. Feel the weight lift as you release them, creating space for peace and renewal. Take a few more deep breaths, letting each inhale bring in tranquility and each exhale release any remaining tension. Know that this presence will stay with you, offering guidance and support whenever you need it.
You know that your time here is almost over. Express gratitude for this experience and the connection you’ve made. Outstretch your hands and see what appears in them. Offer it to the presence as a gift of gratitude. As you turn away, you are aware of the presence smiling in your direction, emanating positivity in your direction. With each step, the lush green garden slowly fades, making way for the warm sands of the desert once more. You continue your journey until you find yourself back in the spot where your journey began.the desert around you slowly melts away and your awareness returns to the present. Take a deep inhale…hold…and release x3
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes and when you are ready, slowly open your eyes to return to the room.
- After the visualisation, take a moment to express gratitude to Osiris.
