Celebrating Easter/Ostara/Eastre
Our family is widely dispersed in its beliefs. We have devout Catholics, devout Lutherans, Agnostics, and… me.
Today, we got together and celebrated all in our own ways but with respect. We had a wonderful brunch (everyone brought multiple plates of food so we gorged ourselves), prayers led by my Catholic son-in-law and recounted memories of those who have passed. We expressed thanks for our own good fortunes. We looked forward to Spring and all the life and joys associated with it.
We all watched the PGA tournament on TV and jabbered constantly about experiences on the golf course, how to properly repair windows, upgrade the electricity in our homes, and grow flowers. We complained about our ills, celebrated our successes and talked over the TV the whole time. When the winner of the tournament got the final putt in, no one noticed.
It was a good time. I hope you all enjoy your day no matter how you choose to do it. No matter the spirit/energy/deity/etc you follow, may you be blessed in your wonderful journey.
